Hotel Borgo San Luigi

The grounds were beautiful. The tree-lined drive, the various rooms and patios, the beautiful pool- all of it seemed perfect. The facility is dog-friendly, and I was sure to pet as many as I could! The staff was super friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate our group of 20. The meals were filling and delicious. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. There are several patio areas, a fire pit, balconies, and other gathering places. Daniela and the staff were superb hosts! We will recommend this property to our family, friends, and customers.

Bucolic Hamlet in the Italian countryside. This hotel was perfection. We arrived from Milan to the most gorgeous alle of cypress trees to a sparkling wine greeting. I was part of tour with Onward Travel. The grounds are gorgeous. My room was two story. Had a great bathroom and shower. Had our jacuzzi tub and shower, with separate toilet and sink room. The staff was wonderful. They took great care of us. The location allowed a great jumping off point to Florence, Greve and the rest of Chianti. It was idyllic. We had a watercolor class, mozzarella making and wine tasting arranged for us. Thank you for spoiling us

I booked Borgo San Luigi expecting a four-star Tuscan experience, but what I encountered was a poorly maintained property that did not match its advertised standard. Our room was in unacceptable condition: mold in the shower, peeling paint, water damage, crooked shelves, cracked door frames, mismatched and scratched furniture, flickering lighting, an improperly hardwired hairdryer, and a weak, inadequate AC unit with gaps in the door letting in bugs. Even basic maintenance around the property was neglected—such as squeaking lounge chairs at the pool that made relaxing outside unpleasant. The dining experience was just as disappointing. The food and drinks were subpar, service was slow, and when I politely sent back a poorly made cocktail, the bartender came out to lecture me rather than fix the problem. We observed other American guests leaving out of frustration, while others seemed to receive better service. I sent the hotel a detailed complaint with photos documenting these issues. The response I received ignored the specific problems and implied the issue was simply that I “couldn’t enjoy” my stay. As a result, I have had to escalate this as a misrepresented property with my credit card company. Borgo San Luigi is not delivering the quality or professionalism of a four-star property, and until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend staying here.

Beautiful property down tree lined driveway deep in the Tuscany countryside. It features terraces and patios, manicured grounds with bright flowers, multiple lovely places to sit for an apertive, drink or a meal, they even have a gorgeous swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and extremely attentive. We had the nice included breakfast buffet every day, it was good with a range of food so that everyone could find something to stay their day. The dinners were served in three courses and were quite nice. The rooms were varied, our group had large ones, ones with the bed in a loft, some had patios, others balconies, we had some people stay in the new “annex” in the back. They were comfortable, stocked with everything you need and cleaned every day.

Coming up the driveway with the beautiful cypress trees lining the driveway sets the scene for the beautiful grounds at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The dining room and bar staff were fabulous. Each meal was better than the last. We took a cooking class which was phenomenal. It is a bit out of the way and depending on how you want to spend your time it is a drive to see other attractions. If you don't mind a bit of drive then the BORGO SAN LUIGI should be at the top of your list.
