Hotel Ilaria e Residenza dell Alba

Loved our stay at Hotel Ilaria! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was so friendly, warm, and helpful. The location is fantastic—just steps from the walls of Lucca and an easy walk to everything in the historic center. The rooms are on the smaller side, as is common in historic cities, but they are exceptionally clean, thoughtfully appointed, and impeccably maintained by housekeeping. Included Breakfast was good, with fresh orange juice and a nice selection of foods, and we especially enjoyed being able to eat either inside by the large windows or outside on the lovely terrace. Btw there is a hot tub on the terrace too. One of the nicest touches was the complimentary hospitality lounge, open daily from noon to 7:00 p.m., offering coffee, soft drinks, beer, and snacks. During happy hour (5:00–7:00 p.m.), guests are also treated to complimentary Prosecco or beer, which was a wonderful way to relax and cool off after a day of sightseeing. Another great bonus is that the hotel provides bicycles free of charge, making it easy to ride around Lucca’s beautiful Renaissance walls. The rates are very reasonable for everything that’s included. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Ilaria.

Very nice experience at Iliara Hotel Lucca. Quality of room, lovely helpful staff, free bikes and complimentary afternoon nibbles, non alcoholic drinks and some alcohol provided in rate was truely a lovely extra, very appreciated after a hot day outside. Would be very happy to return as the hotel represents very good value for money and is in a good spot in the lovely town of Lucca.

Great location. The hotel was quiet. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Breakfast was sufficient with lots of pastries and cakes on offer as well as the normal cereal, yoghurt, eggs. Breakfast could be taken outside if desired. The afternoon cakes, beer and soft drinks (hot drink machine for coffee and tea) was welcomed on returning to the hotel before going out in the evening where the addition of prosecco was available 5 -7 pm. We were able to purchase tickets for the Puccini recital direct from reception. Luggage storage is available after check out.

We had a great time and breakfasts, and an opportunity to rest. Wanted to stay extra days. Friendly staff were much helpful. Ciao

Perfect location for touring. We were in the annex, which was beautiful and well appointed. We were upgraded into a phenomenal two story room. Spacious and quiet. Staff was really nice. The hotel itself has a great happy hour and good breakfast. The price was excellent. We plan to go back. Also recommend Gli Orti which was a stone’s throw away and delicious.
