Montecatini Palace

Comfortable and stylish 5 star hotel with excellent amenities including a spa. This is close to the train station so easy to visit Lucca, Florence etc. Beds very comfortable and staff are very helpful esp at the front desk.

Reviews say that this wonderful hotel has friendly helpful staff, and this was our experience too. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everyone here was genuinely nice, cheerful and helpful. We noticed the respect that all staff have for each other, whether domestic, front desk, or management. Impressive. We were upgraded upon arrival, to a larger room with a balcony. This was of course great for us. The front desk went out of their way to provide useful information, suggestions and advice. Hotel was spotless - it is full of chrome and there was not a mark on any of it. Rooftop pool was super with fantastic views. Again, all faultless. Sheets and towels etc changed every day, by genuinely nice domestic staff. Everything about this hotel was five star (except perhaps the breakfast which, whilst very good, was not quite up to the exceptional standard of everything else). At check out, I mentioned causally that we had a long journey, and without a second’s thought Alessandra went and brought us two cold cans of sparkling water. Such a beautiful thing to do! As we left, we looked behind us to appreciate the immaculate exterior of our hotel, which is obviously extremely well managed. All who work there clearly and rightly take pride in it, and it really does show. So thank you to all at The Palace. We had a fantastic time. We recommend this hotel with alacrity and without reservation.

Similar to a recent reviewer, we were let down by a previous hotel on the grounds that it was appalling and so we managed to get 12 nights here at very short notice. We didn’t know what to expect. We’d never been to the town before. Upon arriving, we realised that we had no reason to be worried. The hotel is obviously clean, modern and very welcoming. The girls on reception are all brilliant. The team up at the roof top pool are also very good. Every single member of staff was a credit to the hotel. Polite, with a sense of humour and helpful Breakfast is really good. Much better than most places we’ve been to and it’s very smooth and easy. The spa is nice and we were able to have a nice massage. Good housekeeping too. I really think this hotel is very well run. The team never look like anything is too much trouble. I really liked Alessio. A lovely guy who you can tell works hard and tries hard to make the guests happy. Hotels with people like him are the ones you remember. Angelica on reception was also nothing other than a pleasure. I have nothing to criticise.

We booked this hotel very last minute for the same day as we had been let down by another hotel . All I can say is wow the greeting we were welcomed was truly 5 star . We were upgraded to a superior room and it was beautiful . Great location to everything and breakfast was also amazing you could order eggs any style which were made fresh and brought to your table. We stayed two nights and really wish we could have stayed longer. The pool on the roof was amazing great space. We had lunch there which was also lovely . They also let us keep our room for the day at no extra charge as we had a very late flight back . I hope to return soon

Great service - staff are lovely, room really pretty and well thought out, pool area great - only blip was the lunch mixed grill were cheap cuts and raw. But everything else spot on.
