San Michele

My husband and I picked Hotel San Michele for our wedding. We where treated so well and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cortona. The rooms are magical, they have so much character and are maintained to a high standard. We stayed in the SUITE SOTTO IL SOLE, the view from the balcony took our breath away. We could not of asked for a better location for our special day, everything was perfect. I want to thank the team for all their hard work ensuring my friends and family had the best possible experience, true professionals! The only point of issue is the parking - which simply cannot be helped due to the age and location of the hotel, but by being prepared and locating parking prior to your stay or speaking to the hotel team for advise and this will avoid these issues.

Superb location in the heart of Cortona. The room and other parts of the hotel are beautifully decorated. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

A wonderful location just off the main piazza. Within easy walking distance to some really good restaurants. The staff was courteous and friendly and anticipated our every need. Should we return to Cortona we would not stay anywhere else.

The hotel has charm with preserved historic details. Our room was comfortable with a kitchen area and outdoor terrace that had amazing views of the valley beyond Cortona. We chose this room but there were also large common areas in the hotel where you could sit and read. The staff at the front desk went out of their way to be helpful. All spoke english. Maid service was friendly and breakfasts pleasant. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

What's not to love about this hotel? It's historic, beautiful, clean, and steps away from the center of town. We were able to walk quickly into the heart of Cortona and enjoy a glass of wine or a cappuccino. We stayed here four nights and used this location as a base to visit other small quaint towns in the Tuscany region. Cortona is old with very narrow cobblestone streets and great views. Our room was spacious and quiet and everything worked to perfection. Housekeeping kept our room well stocked with supplies. A scrumptious breakfast was offered each morning which did not disappoint. Plenty of options with hot drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful and assisted on a few occasions in making dinner reservations for us. The price of the hotel was very reasonable. I'm not sure where you would park a car if you drove a car here. Staying in a hotel that is hundreds of years old is truly amazing.
