Torretta Hotel

Do not book hotel with half board. We travelled with a group and the evening meal was very poor. Salads were displayed on a table without any refrigeration and repeated every day. Chicken & Beef portions are very thinly sliced and you can almost see through them. If you ask for a second helping, this is refused. Forget about any allergies because the food is brought to your table without asking and this happened every day despite pre-ordering our choice everyday during breakfast. Pool is green in colour and not inviting at all.

The staff of Hotel Tourette were friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and warm. My husband had dietary restrictions which they gladly accommodated and we so appreciated. The rooms were spotless, with lots of extra blankets, and balconies. Breakfasts were amazing in the variety of foods presented in a buffet style, with fresh fruit, pastries, various coffees and teas, boiled eggs , scrambled eggs, bacon, granola, yoghurts, breads and cheeses and sliced meats, jams, tomato’s, grapes, tarts, cakes. Every morning I had something different. Its location near the Spa and the Fenicular was very convenient and also wonderful for walking in the pretty park or to the market, or center of town and the train. You can easily get to the coast or to Florence from here without dealing with crowds of tourists. It’s quiet except in the mornings when you can hear the other guests getting out earlier than you. There is a lovely lounge area for gathering in the evening or quiet reading. The pool is cold and the hot tub is warm and not super hot. I would go back again for the service, convenient location, quiet, and charm. As an artist the nearby small villages and fortresses were wonderful as painting subjects.

I must have been staying at a different hotel to others! Disappointed with the standard of the room - very small, a couple of bits of old furniture, hard uncomfortable bed and old bed coverings. Bathroom adequate but nowhere, not even a shelf to store toiletries. Food was ok but disappointing breakfast - tinned fruit instead of fresh is just lazy

Well, the star of the show here is undoubtedly the pool, and whirlpool. That's why we stayed here. Even during a heatwave though, the pool was, shall we say, refreshing. The Whirlpool was delightful! This is an old school, family run property and it really shows. If you are looking for a property where the staff will go out of their way to make sure you have a plesant stay, this is your place. there are ample areas to sit about and read, or play games on the ground floor, which are probably well used because the rooms don't appear to be particularly large. We stayed in a junior suite, which, apart from a rather disappointing view of the back of the kitchen and driveway, offered ample room for us and our luggage. The bathroom in the junior suite verges on spectacular with it's enormous walk in shower and chromotherapy lightshow. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a bit ont he firm, plump side for us. Everything was immaculate here, and while the breakfast was satisfactory, it offered a modest selection, though it was very good considering the value offered here. Fabio ran the room effortlessly, which was super impressive as sometimes there were 30 or 40 people enjoying breakfast at the same time, but everything was replenished quickly and efficiently. Kudos to him for his level of professionalism and courtesy. The location of the property is great, on the northern edge of town with tons of parking just outside the doors. It's a 4 minute walk to the funicular to Montecatini alto, and about 10 minutes into the center of town, though the walk back is all slightly uphill. 30 minutes will get you to either Pistoia or Lucca, less than an hour to either Pisa or Florence, so the location is pretty much ideal if you want wander about. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, though we knew what to expect. It's a value hotel that offers touches of luxury. It's also a piece of Italy that is disappearing so catch it while you can!

Since our first stay at Torretta in 2018 we have wanted to come back and finally did get a chance. Everything was even better than remembered and Torretta is still our favorite Italien hotel; The most friendly atmosphere and staff, high quality food, excellent wine list, fantastic outdoor area, clean and good rooms - just to mention a few highlights. Thanks to the whole staff and owners for a perfect stay
