Grand Hotel Miramonti

I stayed at the Miramonti for a week with Crystal Ski from 24-31st Jan 2026, as it was one of the few hotels that would take solo travellers, so thanks a lot for having me! I must admit I really enjoyed my stay there. It is quite a large hotel and the room fittings are rather dated, but they are solid old wood, hence they have lasted well and are still fully functional, so I had no complaints. If you like TV, the screen was tiny, but I don't watch it, so I wasn't bothered. My room was big, spotlessly clean, had plenty of nice towels, a desk section so I could do a bit of work each evening and was always warm to the extent I needed the window open much of the time. I also had a nice view over to the west of the resort. My only issue was the shower, which was terrible the first day, veering between boiling hot and freezing cold every few seconds and virtually no flow pressure. I told reception and they fixed the thermostat by day 2. After being informed about the pressure again, that too was fixed by day 3, so I had a great shower after that and was grateful because I was skiing 43-60 miles per day and needed it! There was some noise travelling between rooms and quite noisy bar/disco outside some nights, but nothing problematic. This is a genuine Italian Hotel and was patronised by Italian families, not full of Brits, which was fine by me. As a vegetarian, I did struggle with the menu, as most dishes were meat or fish and I couldn't eat a main course all week. However, the maitre D was a lovely guy and came to see me each dinner. We went over the menu and he arranged to deliver to me the menu courses I could eat and sometimes supplemented it with another additional thing, like a spinach burger or caprese salad. I never went hungry at all. As usual in Italy, there was a cold buffet to start, which was fine while I was there, but might get very busy when the hotel is full. There was a lot of choice and enough variety for a vegetarian. Breakfast was also fine, my only issue being that the hot choices were the same all week and meat-based; something like grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans or fried potatoes would have made a change, but I was limited to cereal, fruit and bread, which was very nice. I liked that they had 4 types of seeds to sprinkle on fruit or cereals. Reception staff were always lovely and helpful and one of the ladies sang (very well) before dinner at a piano each evening. There is a nice spa and pool area that I explored but I didn't use it. The boot room is down a flight of stone steps, which might be an issue for some, but was fine with me. It was clean, a sensible temperature and roomy, with good boot airers and seating space for getting boots on and off. Access to the slopes is a big plus, as it is literally a minute or two to cross the road, walk across a small car park and up a slight bank to two lifts of the main ski area (Alpe Alta and Vittoria chair lifts). These are good warm up runs and also give access to the entire resort by skiing across the slopes. When I'm skiing, I want good food, a hot shower, a nice bed, a comfortable room and friendly staff looking after me. Overall, those boxes were all ticked, so I was very happy and relaxed at the Miramonti, which felt like a home away from home. In fact, over a week after getting home I still miss it! I had a lovely week of hardcore skiing in Passo Tonale and even got to see the Olympic torch pass through on Friday of my stay. Thanks everyone. It is always a relief when a pricy package holiday works out well and a big part of that is the accommodation.

This hotel is grand in scale but not grand in style. It is a very good functional ski hotel. Excellent food, excellent location, a little scruffy in places and the lounge area is a bit to small for the number of people. A bit grey with very good music that was a bit too loud. Bedroom and bathroom were plenty big enough and had lots of storage space. They provided a kettle so we could make ourselves a cup of tea. Excellent swimming pool with super views and when we were there the sun was streaming in. Good heaters in the ski room that got very crowded at times and needed a bit of maintenance on the stairs. Staff were always polite and helpful and the bedrooms were quiet. All good value for money and would happily stay there again.

We stayed here on a family holiday due to our party size we needed two rooms. So they put us on different floors as far apart as possible. On the first night we went down for dinner they had us on separate tables, the booking was in the same name did it not occur to any one that we were together as one party? this was resolved for us immediately The noise coming from other guests in the bedrooms was very loud due to little or no sound proofing. No tea/coffee in the room, and to make this worse not even a kettle! but there was a fridge. Furthermore, you could not buy a cup of coffee in the hotel prior to breakfast starting at 07:30 not much use if you are an early riser. The room itself was a good size, and the beds were comfortable and clean, due to us having two rooms we did have the option of a bath and a shower, however it is one or the other in each room. The shower was really good. On our last day nobody had said anything about breakfast, very important if you are leaving before the restaurant opens. We did find the breakfast bags on the floor in reception. still no hot drinks available. the bag contained two rolls and 1 piece of fruit and 1 bottle of water. we were told that each bag was for two people, if this is considered a 4 star breakfast i would hate to think what a 2 star would be like. The hotel entertainment was OK, Kudos to the receptionist who then sings in the evenings. Not only related to the hotel, but to the area you do not appear to be able to get anything savory and substantial between 2.30pm - 7pm. So on to the good things the food was for the most part really good. Location was excellent-so good in fact that for this reason alone i would stay here again. The hotel is next to the hire shop, the ski school and the slopes. Good boot room. The staff in the bar were all very good, but it was Nico that really stood out for us. Great selection of desserts for the afternoon.

Having stayed here at least 5/6 times before I felt very badly treated during check in. We arrived at 13.30 hrs to be told that our rooms were not ready.( understand normall ready by 15.00) eventually we where given our rooms at 17.15 hrs after I had contacted our rep and lost my patience. Receptionist with a very condescending attitude, lots of other people arrived after us and where immediately handed there rooms. Your restaurant is now a school canteen there were that many school parties. If you didn’t enter the restaurant when it opened there was nothing left on the buffet which was not replenished. Every main course was accompanied by polenta ( I understand this is a special of this area ) but not with everything and every night. A very nice waitress who was helpful but have no desires to ever return to your hotel.

Really friendly at check in, small but functional single room and fabulous location for the slopes. Ski/boot room is adequate if a bit basic. Lovely spa and pool. Breakfast was lovely either way loads of choice. Dinner was good although would have preferred less polenta! Overall a really nice place to stay.
