Hotel Sancamillo

I stayed at the Hotel Sancamillo from August 5th to August 11th together with my wife and my two daughters, aged 10 and 12. The stay was extremely pleasant and comfortable, although the room was a bit spartan and in need of modernization in some respects, yet it was equipped with the stated services appropriate for the hotel's category, in perfect working order. The magnificent view of the valley that you can enjoy directly from your room's balcony is priceless. Breakfast and the cuisine are of a good standard, the common areas are modern and comfortable, and the pool (well-maintained, clean, covered, and heated) is an added value. We were welcomed and treated with extreme kindness and professionalism by all the staff, without distinction between the reception, bar, and restaurant. Among them, I want to address a thought and a special thank you to Beppe Lattanzio, who from the moment he welcomed us at the reception showed himself to be special: professional but not detached, helpful but not servile, capable of great customer care and human interactions of great depth. For all these reasons, we would gladly return.

The hotel enjoys a truly priceless view, a large open-air parking lot, and the outdoor spaces, particularly the area with the tables, are perfect for relaxing. The renovation of the lobby, the bar, and the restaurant area is very beautiful and welcoming. Fantastic location and a lot of potential, but the property needs modernization, at least as far as the rooms we were assigned, the pool, and the solarium (with fake grass) are concerned, where the property seems to have remained stuck in the '60s/'70s. Our rooms were cramped and had dated furnishings; in particular, the condition of the fixtures and terraces was embarrassing, as were the bathrooms, equipped with faucets without mixers and the need to climb over the toilet to enter a shower without a tray. It would be desirable to have a drying rack, chairs, or lounge chairs on the balconies for relaxation, and motion sensors for the automatic lighting of the hallways are missing. Finally, but this is a problem that concerns all accommodation facilities in the mountains, given climate change and the summer heat, it would be appropriate to equip the rooms and common areas with fans or cooling systems. The two elevators allow for good mobility, but there is still work to be done for the complete removal of architectural barriers. A shame, because the location is extraordinary: with a complete and uniform renovation, it would make a real leap in quality. Other very positive aspects: - very welcoming, courteous, professional staff who immediately worked to respond to various requests; - excellent dining, with a wide choice of dishes, always of high quality, served with kindness and speed; perhaps the breakfast buffet could include more dried fruit, cereals, and various flavors of yogurt. The wide range of desserts is very appreciable; - very good room cleanliness with a daily change of towels; - large heated indoor pool with a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape, which, however, needs significant maintenance/renovation. In conclusion, we spent a pleasant and comfortable summer vacation at a property that we recommend to everyone.

Great experience at this property well-positioned in Val Di Sole, a short distance from Campiglio and Peio. Attentive staff and high-quality cuisine... special mention for the bartender/concierge Beppe, who welcomed us with courtesy and great humanity. Max
