We stayed for a week in July and we liked the property a lot; it is truly well-kept and all the staff were always exquisitely kind and courteous. A special mention for the dinner, truly excellent and with great flexibility in accommodating us with alternatives, in addition to a good breakfast. However, there are a couple of things that left a bitter taste in our mouths. The first concerns drinks with meals; charging €3 for micro-filtered tap water seems like a truly disproportionate cost for a basic necessity that almost all properties include in the rate (also because the costs of washing glasses and management are common to any restaurant). Furthermore, at the time of our booking and in the confirmation received, it was not specified anywhere that drinks were for a fee, so a little more advance transparency would avoid unpleasant surprises on the bill. The second thing is the buffet lunch for half-board. In fact, the formula is simple and that's fine, but finding practically the same four things every single day for a week becomes very repetitive. Overall, it was still a nice vacation and the staff deserves applause, but a little more advance transparency and variety at lunch would be enough to make the stay perfect.

We stayed at this family hotel the first week of September, two adults, two children (3 and 10 years old) and our Lagotto. Very beautiful and well-kept property, both inside and outside, beautiful playground with a sandbox and trampoline. There are two playrooms for children and a nice mini club program, unfortunately little used by our children due to shyness. Large room and cleaned to perfection every day, spacious bathroom and powerful and very hot shower. A note of merit definitely goes to the cuisine, excellent and varied dinners. I would add a nice wine cellar. Dining room staff attentive and never intrusive, I had read negative reviews but we never had any problems. There is a pool and a spa that might perhaps be a bit small in high season, but we liked them. Another point in its favor is the covered parking included in the price; the door that opens by itself to enter the reception is really convenient!! Overall, a beautiful vacation and a beautiful valley; I feel like recommending it and we will probably return.

7-night stay (August 14-21) in a Superior family room with 3/4 board service. It is a small hotel with about 30 rooms in Val d'Ultimo, a valley undoubtedly little contaminated by mass tourism. The room was very beautiful, spacious, and cleaned to perfection every day. In the room, there are bathrobes and slippers for the spa and towels for the pool (for children, the bathrobe is for rent). The garden with games for children (slides, sandbox, swings, trampoline, and dirt track for pedal cars) is remarkable and well-maintained. The mini club staff was also appreciated for how they interacted with the little ones. Breakfast 7:30 - 10:30 buffet with a good selection of sweet and savory options; at lunch 13:00 - 14:00, the buffet offers only side dishes and salads, then there is a tray of pre-cooked pasta with two sauces (almost always tomato sauce and meat sauce). At snack time 14:30 - 16:00, there are various portions of desserts, while at dinner 18:30 - 20:00, there is the aforementioned buffet followed by a choice between 2 first courses, 2 second courses, and dessert. Drinks are all excluded: we find it truly hard to understand charging for micro-filtered tap water between 3€ and 5€ per bottle, especially in a region that publicly promotes free water through numerous fountains. In our opinion, the cuisine is too unbalanced toward the Austrian style for adults and poorly balanced in the menu for children. The indoor pool is small and has about 7 lounge chairs (it overlooks the garden where there are other spots). I would suggest limiting access on rainy days with timed reservations in order to ensure a good level of usage and tranquility. The SPA area has 8 more lounge chairs and a herbal tea corner. After the description, I have to move on to the negative points.... I would never have expected, in a 4-star hotel in Italy and in the middle week of August (after having spent over €3,000), to encounter serious problems with understanding the Italian language. After check-in, moving to the tables to take advantage of the snack, I crossed paths with a young girl at the bar who spoke neither Italian nor English; on the second attempt with another person, I expressly asked which drinks were included and was told "everything you want, just ask me and I will bring it to you," only to discover later—after she asked for our room number—that everything was for a fee. After the first night, at the reception, when asking for two firmer pillows (the ones provided were very uncomfortable), the young man stared at us blankly without knowing how to answer. Even simple requests at dinner, such as grated cheese, were understood with extreme difficulty. All of this affected our stay, leading us to avoid reporting other needs. Despite the notifications during the booking phase and at check-in regarding my partner's pregnancy, there was not the due attention paid to raw foods and those to be avoided. Furthermore, the cheese buffet consisted exclusively of raw milk cheeses (confirmed by the dining room staff after consulting the kitchen). This means that, besides my partner, no child under 10 should have consumed them: a serious shortcoming for a family-oriented facility. Although we pointed it out from the first evening, no suitable alternative was ever offered to us for the entire week, leaving us in doubt about the safety of other dairy products in the various meals as well. I would have also appreciated more clarity on the menus to avoid "surprises" in the ingredients (such as peppers in the potato Gröstl). As for the room, I would like to point out the practical inconvenience of having a single soap dispenser in the bathroom to move between the sink, bidet, and shower. We were in room 501: with the window open, the street noise is definitely significant and annoying for resting. To finish, during check-out, no one bothered to ask us how our stay went. It is a shame to have to write a review like this, but having made a significant financial commitment, I expect much higher levels of attention.
