I'm giving this hotel 2 star because our stay was very disappointing. We visited Venice during very hot weather, and our room did not have working air conditioning (or no air conditioning at all). It made the room extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sleep in. The service was just average. The staff weren't particularly welcoming or friendly, and overall we didn't feel valued as guests. I can't say whether all of the rooms are like this, but it felt as though we were given one of the lowest-quality rooms in the hotel. Based on our experience, I wouldn't choose to stay here again or recommend it to others, especially during the summer months.

A great location and we loved our room , which overlooked the pedestrianised street with pretty shutters as well as glass windows which also opened up .Loveky traditional decor but with modern bathroom ,shower and amenities .Great big television and a lovely breakfast with hot and cold food A loveky courtyard garden too if you wanted to sit outside .Veey clean ,lift to all floors .

We stayed the night here. The hotel is very conveniently located near Venice St Lucia train station. They are friendly and quite accommodating. The hotel is quiet though the outside is full of tourists. The room is comfortable and I highly recommend it.

This hotel is on Venice's main island and a short walk from the Santa Lucia station so the location is great. Unfortunately, that's about where the positive review ends. The hotel cost £230 for one night (yes it was a busy period but before the biennale opened). It purports to be a 4* hotel but anyone expecting a 4* hotel will be gravely disappointed. The room, bedlinen, towels were clean but everything else was shabby and worn. Some important, some small minor details but not 4*. The electrics were old. There were no plugs to charge a telephone or computer next to the bed or anywhere in the room apart from one near the door and one in the bathroom. The cover of the bathroom light looked scorched, one of the wall lights flickered, the furniture was old and chipped, the upholstery on the one chair seat in a double room was worn. One window was inexplicably sealed shut. The obligatory notice indicating the emergency exit had been removed from the door (or fallen off) and was in the wardrobe. The wall was so thin I could clearly hear the conversation of the people in the next room at 6.30am. In the bathroom, the toilet was a squeeze in the corner facing the end of the bath (impossible for anyone with long legs to use without contortions!) and the seat was loose. Breakfast was OK. The young man at reception who checked me in was pleasant, polite and extremely helpful as were the porters and cleaning staff. The older man who checked me out was extremely rude. And not just me. A colleague staying in the same hotel confirmed he was also rude to her. A very disappointing stay.

There is NO way this should be a 4 star hotel. No better than a roadside motel. Very dated, poor maintenance, needs lots of work. Feeling fortunate it's only 2 nights or I would insist we move.
