So normally I don’t read reviews but curiosity got the better of me rod me just before we flew . My initial thoughts were oh dear what have I booked as there were a few reviews that weren’t very good at all, On arriving we did walk past the hotel -google took us to another -hotel canal grande So we had a little walk about 5 mins back on ourselves and arrived at the right hotel. Location: the perfect location right on the grand canal as stated and next to the coach and bus park - as you get off the bus/coach walk over the first small bridge (not the newer big one) and then onto the next one just as the canal bends and it you’ll spot the small canopy with the hotel name on ( I have posted. A picture ) this location is absolutely perfect especially with luggage and I have to say it doesn’t matter where in Venice you stay you will have to walk! The location is also great for the train station and the water bus stops are directly across the canal. Checking in /reception lovely little reception area , staff were very polite and once checked in we were walked out and around the side of the hotel to another entrance. Entrance- On walking in it is very dated and had the tables situated for breakfast, there is another small room where you can also go for breakfast- unfortunately I can not comment on the food, although we paid for bed and breakfast , we ate out due to having lazy starts and long days out. But it smelt great 👍🏻 Rooms - again I was very worried after what I read, but we stayed in room 105 and on entering it is again very dated but it is an authentic old Italian hotel. First check of the bed which I always do, it was very comfy, clean and nicely made, only downside is there is not enough pillows ( but I also didn’t ask for any more) there is a wardrobe and chest of draws and a cupboard which had the fridge inside , tv plus two fans as well as the air con ( which by god was needed) The bathroom was clean and tidy , all white My only gripe would be the shower curtain has seen better days , but we didn’t pull it over we left it pulled to one side. Staff: staff were very approachable and answered any thing we needed, we were able to keep our luggage in the hotel reception on our last day ( it doesn’t get locked away, it’s round the side so take valuables with you just in case, we had no issues) We stayed 5-9th July and would definitely stay again, overall the hotel is dated but on booking it said exactly that. If you want modern then choose somewhere else. You don’t for what you get and as long as I have a clean and tidy room with a decent bed I’m not going to loan, we only slept in there as we were out all day /evening Venice had you walking or getting the water bus so I think it doesn’t matter where abouts you stay but like I said for location close to coach/train it’s absolutely perfect. The only reason I can’t give 10/10 is due to the shower curtain so I’m dropping to 8/10 . This is something that is easily fixed and could be changed regularly at the sign of wear and tear. Thanks guys for pleasant and enjoyable stay .

The staff were wonderful and very helpful with everything! There was a mattress under the bed which had some dirty stains and we asked for a clean mattress but had to assemble it by ourselves. The water was cold for quite a while before turning hot. Despite the living conditions (which I assume is the same for all hotels in hotel), we had an enjoyable stay and the staff were extremely friendly.

I am not one to usually leave reviews as I often would rather not make the effort, however, for this particular hotel I wanted to share our experience to warn others! Myself and my partner stayed here whilst on a backpacking trip last week, not expecting anything amazing (had seen earlier reviews) we were pleasantly surprised when given a canal view room! This and the belter of an air conditioning unit were the only things we can safely say we were happy about... Upon entering we noticed lots of black dots on the walls, these were what looked like mosquitoes which had been squished on the wall and simply just left (strange choice for decor but ok). The room wasn't unbearably untidy but there was hair on the floor and a ominous blue pill just left on the side. THE WORST PART was opening the mini fridge to find a syringe just lying in there, due to where I work I could tell it was just an insulin shot (thank god) which the previous customer must have left. I immediately mentioned this to the man at reception who told me to tell morning staff as no cleaners were in. Next morning I told the lady who was on reception who said she would get the cleaning staff to remove it... of course they didn't, it was still there when we returned. I told the same gentleman on reception a 3rd time who said I can wait for tomorrow's cleaning staff or I CAN REMOVE IT MYSELF. Wanting to steer clear from potential disease I did not remove the needle from the fridge and it remained there until we left. In short; the staff are very dismissive, the rooms are suspect and I would not recommend.
