This was our 6th trip to Negril and our first time staying at the Charela Inn. We loved the Charela so much, we plan to return in a few weeks. The hotel is Jamaican owned and operated. The rooms are large and are spotless. We stayed in a Seaview King room and it had everything we needed. Coffeemaker, small refrigerator, large walk-in shower and a jacuzzi tub. The best part of the room, by far, was the balcony that overlooked the Charela's section of Seven Mile Beach. There are three areas where the Charela shines, in my opinion. First, the beach is the best beach on 7 mile. There are abundant palms and trees so there is plenty of shade for everyone. Second, the staff are wonderful, the service is great. Last, Le Vendome, their on-site restaurant, is very good. It was our best meal while in Negril. In particular, the souffle and the croissants were both super delicious. The Charela is a great central location on 7MB and it is a good value. Highly recommend!

amazing views! right on the beach. saw our best sunset ever from charela. ocean view rooms are jaw dropping, the balcony is basically the beach. barely 15m from the ocean. very safe cordoned off ocean. saw a tonne of star fishes. good service. tonne of beds to lounge in the beach. beach bar is amazing- grab a drink and wade into the calm ocean. spent an entire day on the beach. pool is nice too. restaurant is very snobbish! they won't even acknowledge your presence for a long time. service is terribly slow and overall terrible. restaurants at nearby resorts are much better. overall great place to stay and chill but avoid the restaurant.

I’ve stayed at many small boutique hotels along Seven Mile Beach, and the Charela Inn is at the top of the list. We stayed in Room 216 with double beds for a girls’ trip, and it was perfect—a beautiful, traditional room with a spacious bathroom and a large, updated shower. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day, which we truly appreciated. The staff were consistently kind and attentive. Breakfast was included in the price, and you could order anything off the menu—everything was superb. Lisa, our breakfast host, was excellent. The croissants were SO good… honestly, I would go back just for those alone. Special shout-out to Tye and Ruben, the beach attendants. They were incredibly friendly and had our chairs set up every morning before we even arrived. I highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again. We also booked our private airport transfer with Toshic Tours—A-1 service all around.
