    Excepțional

We stayed at Country Country from August 14–16, and our experience was amazing. This hotel is exactly what you need if you're looking to relax and enjoy a peaceful vacation away from the noise and crowds often found at large all-inclusive resorts. We traveled with three different families, and both the adults and children had a wonderful time. The rooms are rustic, charming, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the included breakfast, which was the perfect way to start each day. Guests can choose between a traditional Jamaican breakfast or more familiar options such as eggs and pancakes. I don't eat ackee, but I was able to enjoy the callaloo and fried dumplings, which were absolutely delicious. The staff were exceptional—friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much that I decided to extend it by an extra day, and the process was seamless. A special thank you to Monique, the hotel manager, who was incredibly friendly and accommodating with several of our requests. Their hospitality truly enhanced our experience. Overall, everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Country Country, and we will definitely be returning. If you're looking to unwind in a charming cottage setting in Negril, I highly recommend this property. 10 out of 10!

Disappointing and very poor value for money We stayed at Country Country for 12 nights as a family and booked two Superior rooms. We occupied rooms 509 and 511. Considering how much we paid for this holiday, the overall standard was extremely disappointing. Our two rooms were on the ground floor, next to each other and close to the beach, bar and pool. After our stay, the hotel told us that this had been a complimentary room upgrade. However, we did not notice any improvement in the actual standard of the accommodation. The rooms were small, dated and in serious need of renovation. The bathrooms were particularly poor, especially the bathroom in room 509. The fittings were old, worn and corroded, with heavy limescale and areas that did not appear to have been cleaned properly. The shower was difficult to operate, the bath could not be plugged, and a metal bucket was being used as a bathroom bin. To be fair, when we reported the faulty kettle and the showerhead, both were replaced immediately. However, when I requested a deep clean of the bathroom, only a superficial clean was carried out, and the main problems remained. The rooms were also extremely dark. The only way to get sufficient daylight was to open the windows and shutters, but doing this allowed mosquitoes into the room. If everything was kept closed, the room felt very dark — and mosquitoes still managed to get inside. We were badly bitten throughout the stay. The pool area looked much better in promotional photographs than it did in reality. The pool edges and surrounding surfaces were damaged, stained and poorly maintained. Leaves and dirt remained in the water for long periods, and we rarely saw the pool being properly cleaned. Reception was frequently unattended. Richanna was friendly and helpful whenever she was there, which we appreciated. However, reception was closed at night, and this was concerning. If a serious problem, emergency or major fault had occurred during the night, there appeared to be nobody available to report it to. Breakfast was included, but the choice was very limited, with only a small number of set options and portions that were not enough for us. Food and drinks at the hotel were also expensive, which added considerably to the cost of an already very expensive family holiday. The best features were the beautiful beach, the tropical surroundings and the convenient position of our two rooms. However, a good location does not compensate for outdated rooms, poor maintenance, inconsistent cleanliness and limited access to assistance. We have stayed in several Caribbean hotels, so we did not expect modern luxury or a large all-inclusive resort. We did, however, expect clean, safe and properly maintained accommodation matching the price and description. Unfortunately, Country Country did not provide that. For us, this holiday was very poor value for money, and we would not return.

    Foarte bun

Our first trip to Jamaica was wonderful. The people, atmosphere and beach life captivated us from the start. Our little hotel called Country Country will always have a special place in our hearts. We purposefully booked a small, locally owned hotel for this holiday as we wanted to support the local economy as much as we could after the devastating hurricane which had swept through the island a year earlier. Thank goodness we did. The layout is perfect with old colonial cottage style rooms dotted around the site, kind of disorganised in an organised sort of way, if you get my drift..... very chilled out, clean and tidy throughout. There was always someone sweeping the sand away from the walkways and always one of the girls laughing in an infectious way that put a smile on your face. Our room (519) was next to the pool on the top floor of a block of three rooms with a view of the sea. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and COLD! Yes the aircon worked a treat and was very welcome after a hard day of lounging on the beach which was no more than 50ft from our door. Our house keeper was wonderful, we had such a good rapport with her, she made us laugh and had the best smile. Food was terrific and drinks kept us going until we could get across the road to the HiLo store to replenish the refrigerator. Keep an eye out for the Patti Man and the Lobster Man wandering by at lunch time, their fare is delicious and very reasonably priced. The one and only negative I can think of from our entire holiday is Margaritaville which is located on the beach about 100yrd away. Constant music throughout the day, with the base turned up to the max, so much so that you can feel it in your chest and carrying on throughout the night until 4pm two nights a week was something that really put a downer on our time there. Yes we had earplugs but the feeling from the base was totally excessive. Unfortunately it is for this reason alone that we would not return to Country Country. If you decide to use the local taxi services please don't use uber, there's a couple of guys that sit across the road waiting for work. They are fully licensed and all the fare goes to them. Morris is the older of the two. I would take him a frozen water bottle ever time we went across the road to the HiLo store. He was always happy to see us and he always gave us a good price for any journey we wanted and he was always there to pick us up for the return. Give him a frozen bottle and tell him Steven and Debra say hello. To summarise, I can't imagine anywhere better to experience the beautiful seven mile beach as long as you can cope with the music from Margaritaville!
