Couples Negril

Seriously outdated, not clean at all, only 3 real restaurants. The only positive is the beach and the ocean. I'm celiac and was told when I booked that they would accommodate and that I could speak to the chef at check-in. Never happened. We've stayed all over the world and this is by far the worst resort we have ever stayed at.

We had an amazing trip to Couples Negril over my birthday! We participated in the water aerobics with Shamarie who is full of energy and a wonderful human being. We relaxed on the beach, had a great lunch every day, whether a la carte or the buffet, everything was great. Each day we would return to our room with fresh towels, fun towel animals on the bed, and the sand removed from the previous day! The staff at the resort were wonderful. Everyone was so helpful and happy to help with any need. The beach is fantastic and the beach staff even better. Our room was in Bldg. 4, which was near the tennis courts. It was quiet and the garden atmosphere was great. The cleanliness of this resort is also fantastic. They take great pride in the grounds and making sure that every detail is covered. We cannot wait to return in January 2027! This truly is our favorite resort!

We chose Couples Negril as we wanted a small hotel with an intimate feel to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We were not disappointed. Transfers: Starting with the included transfer from Montego bay to the hotel, you can relax in the Couples lounge with drinks and snacks whilst you wait for your minibus. We waited less than half an hour. The journey to Negril took around 1.5 hours. For our return journey we had a private transfer as we were the only couple travelling back at that time. Both journeys were efficient without any issues. Room: We stayed in a garden suite room (8307), which whilst more expensive than a standard room proved to be a good choice. The extra space is appreciated when you need to go back to your room during a rain storm. The suites are well laid out. There's a very spacious bathroom/dressing room. This room was enormous and offered space to store your luggage away after unpacking. The bedroom/sitting area is behind the bathroom and offers doors to a large balcony twice the size of the standard room balcony, with a hammock, 2 chairs and a small table. The bed in the bedroom was king sized and very comfortable. Restaurants: There are 4 restaurants, which close at different times of the week for main dining, restricting your choice for dinner in the evening. However the food at all the restaurants was delicious. It was great that they made the effort to showcase Jamaican delicacies, especially at breakfast. You could also get fresh coconuts at breakfast, but you need to go early as they go quickly. The Veggie Bar is a must for fresh juices. There are two different mixtures available each day. Entertainment: Entertainment in the evening was limited, with a resident band and a range of different singers. More variety is really needed. Dinner on the Beach: As it was our anniversary we paid for dinner on the beach. It was superb and worth the money. We were collected from our room and taken to the beach area which had been prepared for our special occasion. The resident photographer also took some pictures (which was good as they were much better than the ones we took). The meal was great and the atmosphere very romantic. Highly recommended if you are celebrating a special occasion. Beaches: The beach is located on Bloody Bay. The beach at the Swept Away sister resort on Seven Mile beach is more breathtaking, but this one is still amazingly beautiful. And you have the added attraction of an au naturel beach section for nude sunbatching and swimming. We spent all of our time on this beach. The area is fenced off for privacy and only couples are allowed and you must be naked. There is a bar, hottub, shower and a toilet. There is also a tent which serves lunch (the choice of food is the same each day and it is closed at the weekend). The nude beach area is small but there are plenty of sun loungers. However there isn’t much shade and the loungers in the shade tend to get occupied with a towel very early in the morning. You need to play the sunlounger reservation game to guarantee being in the shade. The sunloungers have cushions which can be used as floats in the sea and are a great idea. The area is a nice, safe area to enjoy for naturist but could be a little bigger. Service: Service at the hotel is fantastic. At the restaurant and bars the waiting staff were always polite and attentive. The staff at guest services were very helpful and dealt with any request you had. And finally on our last day we had a late flight and the receptionist was able to provide a late checkout which meant that we were able to enjoy a relaxing full day at the beach. A great gesture which will encourage us to return. This was our first time at Couples Negril and we would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

Hi, I’m always very late doing these things, sorry for that! My husband and I stayed at Couples Negril in February over Valentines Day. To say that we had a fantastic time is an understatement. We’ve been to Couples Ocho Rios and this is our second time at couples Negril. Couples Ocho Rios is lovely, but the beach is small and we like to walk a long beach and the Couples Negril beach is perfect for walking! The food is wonderful and the servers are second to none, they can’t do enough for you! Special thanks to Shanice, Donna and Omaye 😘 They have the very best coffee bar and Yonique makes me the “Very best”Cafe Mocha, she’s an angel 😘 Not to forget Tavoya in the repeater’s club, Christine in house keeping, Karen and Caswayne in the gift shop. All amazing people and again, will do anything for you! We must recommend the Tree House Couples Massage. For the life of us we can’t remember then names of our two lovely ladies who gave the massages, (I know the names will be on our file and we will ask for them again this coming February, yes we’re going again). Couples Negril has become our home away from home. You truly feel welcomed and treated like family! However nothing is perfect. The one thing we need to say is that the resort, though spotless everywhere, is tired and could use some updating. But don’t let that stop you from staying here. It is beautiful and offers a real Jamaican feel. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t right this review, we’re seniors and spend our holiday dollars wisely. You will have a wonderful time. You see and meet all kinds of wonderful people! We are both in our seventies and we have never had any issues. We highly recommend Couples Negril for a winter getaway. We’ll see you in February!

Resort was great, did an amazing job. Friendly respectful staff. Very couple oriented. Food was better than expected but overall not bad. Beach and water were super clean and clear. We were able to easily make plans with help of the resort to explore the island. Felt very comfortable and safe.
