Hideaway at Royalton Negril

An Unforgettable Stay at Royalton Hideaway Negril! We had the BEST experience at Royalton Hideaway Negril! From the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. The property is absolutely beautiful; the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, peaceful, and relaxing, and the Hideaway experience was exactly what we needed. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully furnished with modern touches. The entire resort was well-maintained, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. What stood out most was the consistency of the information and service we received from the staff. Everyone was helpful, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure guests had a great experience. A very special shout-out to Alexandria, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. After discovering that the restaurant I had planned to dine at was closed, she immediately stepped in to help arrange dining at another restaurant. What made her gesture even more special was that she had no idea I was celebrating my birthday! Her thoughtfulness, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile truly made a difference. It's those little acts of kindness that leave a lasting impression. The Hideaway offered the perfect combination of comfort, tranquility, exceptional service, and relaxation. The price was worth every penny, and we left feeling that we had received an experience that exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the entire team at Royalton Hideaway Negril for making our stay so special. We truly appreciate the hospitality and look forward to returning. Kristen, Zeus and Strapp made me and my family have a time we will never forget. They truly are amazing and we are so sad to leave knowing we are now leaving are friends. Everyday was filled with laughter and good times. We will DEFINITELY be back soon!!

Room Category: Hideaway Diamond Club Swim-out I have never written an online review in my life, but this trip was such a disaster that I feel obligated to spare someone else from wasting their hard-earned money. Royalton Hideaway is definitely not a 5-star resort, and I am not sure how they can claim to be one. Pre-Arrival & Front Desk Chaos Communication: Prior to the trip, you are emailed by AI. Don't bother asking questions via email or their website ticket system—they close tickets without responding. The room selection link didn't work and showed no rooms available, which caused unnecessary panic for our group before we even arrived. The $600 Resort Credit Scam: We didn't book excursions ahead of time, planning to use our resort credit. Upon arrival, we were told it didn't apply to the spa or excursions. When I asked what it could be used for, they said a room upgrade (impossible for us since we had a swim-out, and the only higher category was a Presidential Suite without a swim-out) or $20 off a $99/day beach cabana. When I pointed out that this doesn't add up to $600, the staff member said she didn't know where the rest went and was waiting on a "guidelines book" that never arrived. It is complete false advertising. Timeshare / Vacation Club Sales: Avoid the "Prime" representatives offering $100 off excursions to listen to a pitch. They claimed it was 40 minutes to an hour and a half; it took 3 full hours of our morning. Applying the credit was a nightmare that took 45 minutes per room one day, plus another 45 minutes at checkout. Airport Transfers & Transport Nightmares Shared Transfer: On the way in, they tell you it takes 1.5 to 2 hours, but with multiple resort stops (and a stop at their buddy's bar where prices magically change depending on who is buying), it took 2.5 to 3 hours. Return Transfer Fiasco: We waited at the designated pickup spot from 6:30 AM for a 7:20 AM pickup. The staff kept insisting our transfer wasn't there. To avoid missing our flight, we had to pay $150 out-of-pocket for a private taxi. When I emailed to complain later, the transfer company claimed the driver was there and we weren't. Buy a private transfer directly—it’s faster and avoids the lies. Diamond Club & Butler Service We paid extra for the Hideaway Diamond Club Swim-out with two assigned butlers, but people without Diamond Club were getting faster, better service. Service: Our room setup requests (morning drinks, specific items) were consistently forgotten or ignored. Room Service: Unbelievably slow (taking anywhere from 1.25 to 3 hours), with an extremely limited menu, missing items, and frequent outages. On my birthday morning, despite having our "Do Not Disturb" sign on, someone knocked on the door trying to deliver food I never ordered. Policies: Note that if your "Do Not Disturb" sign is out, even your butler cannot enter. Room Issues & Water Damage The bathroom sink was leaking water everywhere. Everything I had sitting on the counter got completely soaked, including my makeup bags and brushes. The leak was so bad that setting my phone near the sink caused it to detect water damage, preventing it from charging. Be very careful with the room steamer as well—it ruined one of my dresses before I could even wear it. The room comes with robes and a steamer to use while there, and you do get one beach bag to take home. On a positive note, the butlers did decorate our room for my 40th birthday, which was a nice gesture. Dining & Food Quality The food across the resort was consistently terrible and often undercooked. Buffet & Bars: The buffet ran out of food on multiple days, and scrambled eggs were literally sitting in two inches of water. The physical menus constantly conflict with what’s on the app. At the sports bar, they open at 3:00 PM, but by 5:30 PM, they were out of everything except burgers. 40th Birthday Dinner Disaster (Steakhouse): They forgot our drinks entirely (I had to walk across to an outside bar to get my own). After waiting two hours for our food, the server nonchalantly told us she accidentally gave our food to another table. They showed zero urgency or care. Management offered to deliver steaks to our room at 10:00 PM, which we declined since we had an 8:00 AM excursion, so they gave us a bottle of Prosecco instead. Bright Spot: Ocean Point Bistro was the ONLY restaurant with amazing, respectful service. Armadillo had great food and decent service but is only open one day for dinner only. The Italian restaurant (Grazie) was decent, minus a cold, hard, raw mozzarella stick. Staff Attitude: Overall, the majority of the staff made us feel like a major inconvenience, despite us tipping everyone generously. Excursions & On-Site Vendors Jewelry Store: Be very careful. A clerk tried to charge us $4,000 USD for an item that shouldn't have been more than $100. Excursions: Stick to water excursions! Land excursions spend hours in transit. The excursion team lied about timings—a "10:00 AM to 2:30 PM" Rum Tour actually ran from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM. (Though long, the Rum Tour was actually great, and lunch on that trip was better than anything at the resort). Spa: The spa facilities were poorly managed. Women’s amenities were down, hydrotherapy rules were conflicting (some staff say you need an appointment, others say you don't), and they forgot to call me when the sauna opened up as promised. Final Notes / Heads Up The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing here. Multiple “companies” operate under one roof with zero communication. Resort Surroundings: On the drive in, you pass Hedonism (a swingers resort), and adjacent to the property is Grand Lido (a nudity mandatory resort). The Hideaway side also seems to be clothing-optional/topless-friendly. This didn't bother me, but future guests should be aware. I will never return to this property and will seriously think twice before ever booking another Royalton resort. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Chana was the most amazing bartender we have ever had at any resort we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at many! She made the whole vacation memorable and enjoyable! Donovan was awesome as well and shadine and Assange! I will come back again solely because of chana!
