Worst experience EVER. Four (4) full days without running water. Toilets didn’t flush and Management hid in their office for ALL 4 DAYS. NO ANNOUNCEMENTS. NO MEETINGS. NO IDEA WHEN THE ISSUES WOULD BE FIXED. With no water, how were staff washing their hands? Disappointed at every turn when no Management would speak to me. Our trip was horrible, people admitting to peeing in pools. Staff were overwhelmed because Management wouldn’t address the mob in the lobby. A burst pipe can happen. The problem was the denial. Riu stated after the media showed people speaking up about the sheer number of people IT WAS A SMALL NUMBER IMPACTED AND FIXED IMMEDIATELY “. DO MOT BOOK RIU AT ALL. THE MANAGEMENT DOESN'T CARE, BOOKED HUNDREDS IN WHILE ANGRY MOB WAS YELLING IN THE LOBBY. GREEDINESS AT ITS FINEST.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent room and service. Food options amazing even for me a fussy vegetarian. Brilliant choice of pools and beach

We really enjoyed our stay, room was fine, some minor issues, but not worth the fuss. Our cold water was out for 1 day, but this was sorted out and a good response. The TV was also down, reported it and staff were very responsive. Food in the buffet was good, but the popular food ran out too quickly.pools and beach was top notch.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our family's experience at RIU Ocho Rios was extremely disappointing. We traveled from multiple states and two different countries to spend time together, only to have our vacation disrupted almost immediately. The plumbing problems began the evening we arrived on July 1 and continued throughout our stay. Our room frequently had no running water, our toilets would not flush, and we were forced to fill trash cans with water just to flush the toilet. This went on for several days despite repeated calls to guest services and maintenance. The lack of functioning plumbing created unsanitary conditions that no guest should have to endure, especially at an all-inclusive resort. We lost valuable vacation time waiting for maintenance, following up with staff, and dealing with problems that should have been resolved promptly. While some staff members were courteous and did what they could, the overall response from management fell far short of what we expected. The resort continued operating while guests were left without basic necessities like reliable running water and working toilets. We paid nearly $2,500 for a five-night stay, expecting a relaxing family vacation. Instead, we spent most of it dealing with plumbing failures and unsanitary conditions. I cannot recommend RIU Ocho Rios based on this experience and hope the resort addresses these issues before other families experience the same problems.

Not a luxury hotel our toilet overflowed the first day so bad that it was leaking out of the room and down the hallway took 2 hours just to have someone come help us clean it up we were walking around in a flooded room no food options when we arrived after traveling 12 hours had to wait for buffet to open at 6:30 . No option to even buy food. Toliets did not work at all last 2 days we were filling up waste baskets to flush our toliets and had no hot water had to shower in ice cold water and then on top of it no toilets were working in almost the whole hotel lobby toliets were barely working it was so gross restaurant couldn’t serve many drinks cause of the problem AND NOBODY TOLD ANYONE TIL YOU ASKED and had no resolution staff was actually rude about it and didn’t try to accommodate anyone who wants to pay all that money for vacation with no proper way to use a bathroom without filling waste baskets to flush toilets Beaches are beautiful but pool areas dirty alit with food just laying around and tons of empty glasses and absolutely no wait staff to help you get drinks you are all on your own for that Beach bar is rude and main pool bar rude Reggae bar by that pool had the cleanest and nicest area Food is not great except for steakhouse This is not a luxury hotel at all you don’t feel like your at one as advertised we have stayed at a Barcelo and dreams resort and they were so much better I don’t need to be pampered but it would be nice to helped once in awhile DO NOT book a excursion or a taxi with the people sitting in lobby they are rude and over priced find your vacation rep in the hotel there around corner from gift shop we had no idea they were there the hotel failed to tell us when we checked in at least at other hotels I stayed at they would tell me wete my vacation rep was located to book excursions We spent aloy of money for this hotel and it was terrible with all the water and toilet issues it’s sad a hotel chain this big does nothing to help guest and the poor people continuing to check in with no clue least I was leaving 2 days after the problem started didn’t realize I paid all that money to have to find ways to flush a toilet or couldn’t shower properly
