They don’t have their act together the phone in the room never worked which is your life line when you are staying at such a large property. We were promised 2 messages if we attended a welcome breakfast which turned out to be a hard sales pitch for some insanely expensive program which gave us what we already had and because we refused to purchase the vacation plan they lied to us and we got nothing. Beware of the staff here offering you anything complimentary because there is a catch. We spent a lot of money on this vacation and we won’t be back. Cant wait to get home. If you do stay at any Royalton make sure to get the Diamond package because without it you are screwed and fending for yourself and your next meal which by the way will be disgusting. The food is awful and probably the worst that I have ever had.

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Yomique and George - Diamond Club Butlers @ Royalton Negril. They were friendly, kind and super attentive. They made sure that not only my family but my extended family also visiting were well taken care of. Our dinners were booked without any hassle at all. Yonique and George also went out of their way to meet us wherever we were at to check in on us. The hotel had some hiccups being newly reopened but Yonique and George made up for them. They are true professionals and if you have pleasure of meeting them on your vacation consider yourself lucky! 😎

Heartwarming Service Amidst a Premature Reopening at Royalton Negril Our recent family vacation to the Royalton Negril was an unforgettable adventure filled with mixed emotions. While the food was great, the weather was perfect, and the views were beautiful, it was clear that the resort reopened prematurely after the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa. We frequently felt like "test-case" guests, as the property had only reopened a couple of days before our arrival. However, the shortcomings of the facility were entirely overshadowed by the excellence of the resort's staff. The Facility: Reopened Too Soon The physical state of the resort left much to be desired, likely due to scarce resources during the post-hurricane recovery. Contractors were everywhere all the time. One woke me up asking to enter my suite to test the fire alarm! The handful of restaurants on the property were never all open at the same time, and the sushi restaurant remained closed for our entire stay. During dinner at the steakhouse—which was clearly sharing a kitchen with the restaurant next door—we watched contractors hauling equipment, shoveling, and working with hoses right inside the kitchen area. Worse, our room suffered a complete power outage for two nights, leaving us with no electricity, air conditioning, television, or phone service. Even basic amenities showed strain, such as the noticeably worn and discolored beach and pool towels. The Staff: A World-Class Team Despite these significant challenges, our hearts were deeply moved by the employees. Many had been unemployed for ten months following the hurricane, and their eagerness to be back was undeniable. Every interaction was filled with diligence, purpose, and a genuine smile. * Our Butlers: Kenneth and Nathanael provided exceptional service. They anticipated our needs, engaged in wonderful conversation, and Nathanael even gave our daughter a thoughtful souvenir to take home. * Desk Heroes: When our power went out, Peta-Gae worked calmly, patiently, and diligently to downgrade our room (we had a presidential suite) so our family could have air conditioning and electricity. Trishelle, who welcomed us at check-in, was equally amazing at check-out, listening to our lengthy, honest feedback with immense patience. * Poolside & Dining Favorites: Lincoln was energetic and incredibly helpful with setting up our pool cabanas, while Miss Barbara stood out as easily the hardest-working person there, greeting us with a comforting, rich smile all day every single day! * A Special Connection: The ladies in the ice cream shop formed such a sweet bond with our daughter that tears were shed when it was time for us to say goodbye. * Showtime: The crew who facilitated the shows at night did a magnificent job entertaining the lethargic crowds, especially with the youth! Final Thoughts Some highlights of the trip were the pool, the pastries, relaxing in the cabanas, and enjoying breakfast together as a family every morning. But the highlight for me was having conversations with some of the most charming, hardworking people. We willingly forgave the physical flaws of the resort because the staff treated us like family. They are the true asset of Royalton Negril.
