Nomad Beach Resort

Beautiful hotel on the nicest beach in Kenya. Upgraded to a very large beach room. Great service and amazing fish at the restaurant. Would recommend any time. No kite surfing at the hotel but 5 min walk from there, although very basic equipment and messy service

Super hotel, great rooms (we had 2 ocean view suites) , try to get the top floor as they have a spectacular balcony overlooking the ocean Food and service are great, beach very clean and we had great fun surfing the waves. Recommend the beach front restaurant. If you want to have an evening out , worth going to Sails which is nearby

We just returned from a family trip (3 adult couples) to Diani Beach in Kenya. We stayed at the Nomad Resort Beach Villa for 3 days, post our safari on the Masai Mara. This property boasts 4 ensuite BRs, 3 of which have king beds, an expansive first and second floor veranda, private pool and private grounds on the beach. It is adjacent to the traditional resort which provides amenities like restaurants, a bar, pool etc. We did not use these as our accommodations were inclusive of half board (breakfast and dinner). The villa was spotless, private and comfortable. We were taken care of by a staff of 7, including Oliver (staff manager), Lucas (butler extraordinaire), Matha (the chef providing delicious cuisine and accommodating 2 vegans, a vegetarian and 3 omnivores). Michael kept the premises immaculate. The remaining staff operated behind the scenes (security, pool maintenance, excursion reservations and transport, etc.). The atmosphere is pure luxury and, for us, the experience of a lifetime. The villa has direct views of the ocean and is a few steps across the lawn to the 18 KM long Diani beach. This beach has the most unusual sand I have ever seen. It's like flour! The ocean water is above 80 degrees F, clear and quite swimmable. For entertainment during our short trip we hired one of the many glass bottom boats for a couple of hours of snorkeling and hanging out at a nearby sandbar. Good for relaxation and some light exercise. We also hired a Dhow sunset sail. Wonderful 3 hour cruise along the beach culminating with a setting sun as we returned to the mooring. Great photo ops. Fascinating vessel of ancient design. This was our first trip to Kenya and we could not have been more impressed by the beauty of this country and the friendliness of its residents, both on the mara and on the coast. If you are considering a top level experience I strongly endorse a stay in one of the Nomad Villas. Asante sana to our new friends there.

This was my worst experience in any resort or hotel in my entire life.We arrived around 22:30 after a long journey and tried to get a drink to be told that the bar is closed. The restaurant also closed but they did leave some stale chicken sandwiches in the room. They also brought ice to my room and in the fridge there was Whisky and Beer. On arriving in the room, which was full of ants , they then came and tried to spray them to no avail. The air conditioner did not work and we reported this matter numerous times but they could not sort out the issue. There was no hot water during the stay and only on the last day was this sorted out as apparently the plug was down. The final straw was on our final night there was a snake in our room a small Black Mamba according to the maintenance team. We also requested a taxi back to Mombasa and confirmed it was done, but this request was also not done. The position is excellent and the attitude of the Nomad Beach resort team was friendly but unfortunately they could not make any decisions and sort out the issues. I definitely would not go there at all even for FREE.

Beachfront rooms are almost perfect. I thought that they might be even more pleasant than cottages. Room service was available at all times, as it should be. Surprisingly comfortable beach and terrace furniture. The staff was at times a bit remote, however there where needed and at the helping us to spend time comfortably while waiting for a transfer. The food is not exeptional, but all the time decent. The main restaurant had some minor problems in communications between the kitchen and waiters; we have waited pizza 50 minutes and got it cold, which means that it was waiting somewhere not being delivered in time. Similar happend once with eggs. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet is fabulous in all respects.
