Temple Point Watamu

This resort is undeniably beautiful; the design, views, and overall aesthetic are exactly as advertised. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a visually stunning space. However, beyond the aesthetics, the experience felt somewhat curated and impersonal. While the service was professional, it lacked the warmth and authenticity that truly makes a place feel welcoming and memorable. At times, it felt more like being part of a staged experience than being able to fully relax and feel at home. For travelers looking for a picture perfect, polished getaway, this place will likely meet expectations. But if you value genuine human interaction, cultural warmth, and a sense of belonging, the experience may feel a bit disconnected. Overall, a beautiful space but one that could benefit from a more human, less programmed touch.

After our 7 days safari,we looked for a quiet place to relaxe and we found it at Temple Point Resort.We called it oasis of peace.Houses with the rooms setteled in beautifull park,little private beach,wonderfull Mida Creek sunsets,helpfull and kind personnel.Special thanks to Emmanuel,who arranged for us some trips.We highly reccomand all day trip with dolphin watching,snorkelling and rich seafood lunch on the way. Genneraly:we were several times in the hotels of Diani beach and in Malindi and Kilifi ,it was nice,but it was noisy,busy,with agressive locals at the beach,here you have private beach and nice quiet walks

Stayed for a few days at Temple Point, beautiful place in a serene setting, quiet ocean beaches on one side and the creek on the other side. Well quipped gym and lush gardens if they get more water. Rooms were small and interior a bit outdated, bit more attention and updates would be nice. Breakfast buffet was ok but very limited choice, even fresh fruit which is plenty outside was limited to water melon. Service was friendly but very slow and it was even low season with only a few guests at the hotel. A la carte menu is limited but pricey. Diani or Lamu would be better next time.

Not a huge reviewer, but when the food is this good it deserves a review. We were not staying in the hotel but came for an al a carte breakfast with the family for a Saturday morning treat. Menu was great with loads of yummy options. The poached eggs and rosti were on point, done to perfection! Kids pancakes and french toast were perfect. A great setting looking out over the mangroves and Mida creek. A not to be missed eatery in Watamu.

Temple Point Beach Resort is set in a beautiful natural location, and the beach and surroundings are its greatest strengths. However, the property itself feels like it has seen better days and does not fully live up to what is presented online. The room was simple and generally clean, but towels were visibly worn, greyed, and frayed at the edges, and were not replaced regularly. Pool towels were also in short supply leading to strange behaviours by other guests like hoarding or even trying the take towels while other guests swam or left their chairs. The gym was a positive surprise: modern, well equipped, and clearly maintained to a higher standard than other facilities. Lichthaus, however, felt significantly overpriced and overrated. The same beautiful sunset can be enjoyed from nearby community-run restaurants or even from a paddleboard, without paying KES 4,000 for a cushion on the floor. There is even a net next to the yoga deck that hotel guests can enjoy, with no crowd and no charge. A special mention goes to the staff. Emmanuel was excellent in helping us arrange activities and was extremely flexible when plans changed. The service staff were consistently present to keep things running smoothly. I wish the tipping system were more transparent so that I could guarantee gratuities are reaching staff.
