Meeru Maldives Resort Island

Overall, Meeru Maldives was an excellent resort and genuinely one of the best I have stayed at in the Maldives. Communication before arriving was very good, with fast responses and clear information provided throughout. However, our arrival experience at 5am was disappointing. We were informed that transport to the resort would not be until 10:30am, which was frustrating considering the amount being paid for the holiday. Waiting that long after an overnight journey would have been extremely uncomfortable. After numerous calls to reception and around 1.5 hours of repeatedly explaining the situation, the team finally arranged access to the airport lounge until transport. This was a much better solution and I do appreciate the effort once it was eventually resolved. The transport itself was not particularly luxurious, likely because there were more than 25 people travelling each time, and this also meant the journey took around an hour. The weather was windy during our stay, making the boat ride quite rough and bumpy. Once we arrived, though, the resort itself was amazing. I have stayed in many hotels in the Maldives and this was honestly the best overall experience. The resort is large, beautifully maintained, and has plenty of restaurants and food options. We chose the All Inclusive Plus package, which I would highly recommend. The included drinks were excellent, and the quality of food in the à la carte restaurants was outstanding. We stayed in an overwater ocean villa, which was lovely. The jacuzzi did not work on the first day, but it was fixed quickly. The water temperature in the jacuzzi was acceptable, although slightly cold. During the daytime there were not many fish visible around the villa, but at night there were plenty of sharks and large fish, which was great to see. One of the best parts of the All Inclusive Plus package was the inclusion of padel once per day. I also paid extra for hitting partners, and they were of a very high standard, which I really enjoyed. Thanks Ali, the Sports manager who played with us, and was lovely to have a chat with. The TV channel selection was excellent, the shower pressure was very strong, and the air conditioning in the room worked perfectly throughout the stay. The buggy service around the island was generally good, although sometimes we had to wait up to 10 minutes. There was still some walking required to reach the water villas, which was a little tiring for my 78-year-old mother, although perfectly manageable for me. The complimentary sunset cruise for all-inclusive guests was enjoyable. It was not spectacular, partly because of cloudy weather, but we did see dolphins, and considering it was included free of charge, it was definitely worthwhile. The sea conditions were rough, however, which made the trip a little exhausting. We also visited the nearby local island for a short two-hour trip, and this was very good and highly recommended at only $40 per person. The facilities overall were excellent. Nightly entertainment was simple but lovely, and the DJ played a very good selection of music each evening. Overall, despite a frustrating arrival experience and slightly rough transport, Meeru Maldives delivered an outstanding holiday experience with excellent food, facilities, activities, and atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend it, particularly with the All Inclusive Plus package.

We love Meeru Island. We hope to return to Meeru soon. The people there are so wonderful and kind. The food is delicious. In short, it is a magical place.

Perfect place to relax, swim and snorkel (however there are better places with house reef). Amazing coast line, good sport and entertainement activities, friendly staff. Extremely good cocktails amd mocktails. Relative close to Male airport by speedboat.

A beautiful, friendly and very well appointed resort with amazing staff and cuisine. The beaches and snorkelling were wonderful. I will definitely be back!
