Check in was swift and we were whisked off to our room on one of the islands chauffeured buggy’s, our luggage followed soon after. We booked a split holiday, first half in the waterfront villa and second half in the over water villa. We absolutely loved the waterfront, your room led out to a veranda with two sunbeds, chairs, table and parasol, amongst palm trees and greenery, right on the sandy beach with a further two personal sunbeds and steps away from the water. We liked it So much we ended up staying the whole duration there. The current was quite frequently strong around the overwater and deep, I was thrown into the stilts on one occasion whilst snorkelling and I am a strong swimmer, husband can’t swim so wouldn’t even be able to use the steps to just Wade and to be honest I never saw these rooms been used to this advantage hardly at all, that and being confined to your veranda just didn’t appeal to us personally in the end, as nice as they looked. My only criticism regarding the waterfront villas is they could do with an update, the jacuzzi area more so. I believe tho that a refurb is slowly happening. The new gym is fabulous, plenty of machines, weights etc, there’s even a room for classes and more equipment can be found. We ate at malaan (adults only) the food was fabulous, something for everyone, even fussy me. The staff wherever you are always friendly, they greet you, ask how you are etc. It was my birthday mid stay, I received a lovely text first thing wishing me a happy birthday, then later a half bottle of fizz, some fruit and then evening meal a table was set nicely for me and a small birthday cake was presented for me to take back to our room, I mean, how nice is that, it’s certainly a birthday I won’t forget, thankyou. Yazoo who was our house keeper deserves a special mention, really made sure we were looked after. The island itself is beautiful, you can walk around the perimeter in less than an hour. Really enjoyed the snorkelling, it’s like being in an aquarium. Saw reef sharks, rays, numerous fish. Time really slowed down and our stay here was truly wonderful. Would we return? In a heartbeat, most definitely.
I was travelling alone as my husband who died 4 years ago wouldn’t go to the Maldives as he didn’t like beach holidays The experience was all I could have desired and more. I never felt out of place being on my own. There’s always someone who will talk to you. The staff had obviously been briefed that I was alone and either addressed me by name or my room number. I paid extra for the water villa and my goodness was it worth it ! It was lovely to be able to walk down the steps straight into the water. The water sports activities were very well managed and at the age of nearly 74 I had my first experience of a jet ski - brilliant! The food was excellent and plentiful - especially for a fussy eater like myself I would recommend this resort and I’d love to return one day - whether I will or not, I don’t know Thank you Meeru for a fabulous holiday
Having visited the resort before we weren’t disappointed on our return. The over water villas were wonderful allowing you to witness the sea life up close. The staff are very attentive and helpful often going out of their way to make the visit a memorable one. The food from all the restaurants is of the highest standard with great choices. The facilities on the island are excellent although some of the charges for excursions and dives are pricey.
This was our 12 th stay in meeru , everything amazing once agian, was lovely to be met but the new manager Joseph , saw him a few times around the island which was nice to see , the food was exceptional in all areas and à la carte dining , there are too many staff to mention ,our room boy was one of the best we have ever had we were in 527 his name was namheed , he kept our room beautiful , all the staff are truly amazing in this island , would like to return one day again , missing meeru already ,thank you Hazel and John xx
We have just returned from our 26th visit to this island - and what a wonderful time we had - as always ! Many people ask us why we return year after year - the answer is simple - the team . Meeru boasts a high percentage of long serving team members - and this shows in the service levels , and friendliness of your stay here . The underwater world is a marvel , and we were lucky enough to regularly dive with Ali and Saiji - who make every dive memorable- brilliant job guys ! Let’s not forget Hussain and his boat crew too - always making sure that the details are taken care of - giving us more time to discuss our sightings 😁 . The executive chef does an amazing job and not only presents exceptional food , but couples this with a great team of chefs that go out of their way to ensure you have a great “ gastro holiday “ The island is beautiful - and over recent years the gardening team have created wonderful spaces everywhere - all natural and dreamy . If you’re reading this review because you’re considering booking this resort - stop considering - just do it, it’ll be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make - and if like us you’ve been before - then you’ll get what I’m saying , and maybe see you next time we are there . To all our friends in Meeru - thank you ! 🙏
