First time in the Maldives and didn't want a shiny chrome resort but a more natural one with green credentials. Specifically chose Baa Atoll due to the UNESCO status. The resort did not disappoint, the staff were amazing, the rooms were lovely, the food great and the house reef was amazing. Have not seen such a variety of marine life anywhere else in the world. It's expensive to visit the Maldives but this place was worth every penny.
We enjoyed 4days staying here. Indian food and Asian food and drinks. We saw a lot of sharks and turtles.mantas and fish. Friendly staffs and good service winlai, melly, suraj
Everything was wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious, with so much care and attention to detail. What made the experience even more special was the incredibly warm and friendly service from the whole team. A special thank you to Karuna, whose kindness and attentiveness truly stood out. She made us feel so welcome! The island itself is naturally beautiful, with lush greenery and a wonderfully unspoilt feel. The house reef is incredible, and everything above and below the water is simply stunning!
NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort – A Beautiful Island, Outstanding Cuisine and Details That Matter This was our ninth trip to the Maldives, so we have considerable experience and many points of reference when it comes to evaluating hotels in this region. We spent 10 days at NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort, and our stay was filled with beautiful moments, wonderful nature and exceptional culinary experiences. The resort underwent renovation in December 2025, and the island itself is beautiful, well maintained and surrounded by a stunning beach. Occupancy during our stay was low, estimated at around 10%, which made the atmosphere even more peaceful and relaxing. We were also fortunate with the weather. Accommodation and Service Our villa was spacious and comfortable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bedding was soft and pleasant. Special recognition goes to the person responsible for cleaning our room. Everything was prepared perfectly, and our room was cleaned while we were at breakfast. We also appreciated the personal attention and care shown towards our needs. The person looking after our villa regularly asked whether we needed anything or required any additional assistance. These are precisely the kinds of gestures that make guests feel genuinely cared for. The Island, Nature and Underwater World The island is very well maintained, and the beach is beautiful and inviting, making it an ideal place to relax. However, one of the greatest highlights of our stay was the natural environment. Almost every day, we watched dozens of dolphins, and while snorkelling, we encountered turtles, rays, reef sharks and countless colourful fish. The underwater world is diverse, and some sections of the reef are clearly showing signs of recovery. It is worth highlighting the opportunity to snorkel both along the outer reef and closer to shore. The shallower areas may be a good option for those who feel less confident in the water, while the outer reef offers the opportunity to discover a richer underwater world. This is a place where you can truly appreciate the beauty of Maldivian nature. Breakfast and Cuisine – One of the Resort’s Greatest Strengths The cuisine was one of the strongest aspects of our stay. Breakfast was very good and prepared using high-quality ingredients. Particular highlights included freshly squeezed juices, excellent hot cappuccino made fresh to order, as well as omelettes, pancakes and Eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious, fresh and carefully prepared. We were equally impressed with the other dishes. The chef has truly exceptional talent. The food was beautifully seasoned, full of flavour and prepared with great sensitivity and skill. I do a lot of cooking myself, and we have recently had the opportunity to visit several restaurants recommended by the Michelin Guide, so I pay particular attention to the quality of ingredients, the balance of flavours and the cooking techniques used. In these respects, the resort’s cuisine made a tremendous impression on us. The chef deserves special recognition. It is all the more disappointing, therefore, that such outstanding cuisine is not accompanied by an equally refined presentation throughout every aspect of the hotel’s dining experience. I am referring specifically to room service — exceptional food that deserves a much better presentation. Room Service – Outstanding Food That Deserves Better Presentation Unfortunately, room service left us somewhat disappointed. The choice of dishes was rather limited and included items such as a burger with fries, spaghetti Bolognese, Maldivian tuna curry, chicken curry, sandwiches and fish and chips. The taste of the food itself was not a concern at all — quite the opposite. The food was genuinely excellent, and the Maldivian tuna curry was so delicious that I will definitely have to recreate it at home. A meal for two cost approximately USD 120, including local taxes and the service charge. This is a considerable amount, particularly when you take into account the limited menu and the way the dishes were presented. What surprised us most was that the food was delivered on ordinary plates, the same ones used in the main restaurant. Moreover, the same tuna curry with rice was also served at breakfast. Of course, I have no objection to an excellent dish appearing on the menu more than once. However, I believe that ordering it to the privacy of your own villa should offer a somewhat different and more special experience, including the presentation and tableware. During our many stays at hotels around the world, whenever we have ordered room service, the meals have always been served on tableware different from that used in the main restaurant. We have never encountered a situation in which a dish ordered to the room was served on the same porcelain used in the main restaurant. Simply serving this excellent dish on the porcelain used in the à la carte restaurant would have made a completely different impression on us. After all, this would not have involved any additional cost for the hotel. For me, aesthetics are an important part of the dining experience. Presentation, tableware and attention to detail are not merely additions to a meal — they contribute to the atmosphere and influence how we perceive the entire experience. It is all the more disappointing that a chef who prepares food to such a high standard is not given the appropriate setting in which to present his work. The contrast with another five-star resort in the Maldives, where we stayed recently, illustrates this particularly well. There, we paid USD 180 for a private five-course lobster dinner. The table was beautifully set and decorated, each course was presented with exceptional care, and the chef personally served us our dinner. Great attention was also paid to the drinks and the overall atmosphere of the evening. It was a complete, thoughtfully designed experience in which every detail mattered. Of course, I am not directly comparing two different services, as a private tasting dinner and room service serve different purposes. I mention this experience because it demonstrates how much difference presentation and attention to detail can make. If another five-star resort can create such an exceptional setting for a five-course dinner for USD 180, it is difficult not to feel disappointed when, for approximately USD 120 for a meal for two, you receive excellent food served on ordinary plates, without any particular attention to aesthetics. My point is not to criticise the prices — every hotel has the right to set its own pricing policy. What matters to me is the relationship between the price and the quality of the overall experience. In my opinion, very little would be needed: different porcelain, more thoughtful presentation and a little more attention to detail. This would not require a major investment, yet it could significantly elevate the standard of the service. What disappoints me most is that such a talented chef, whose dishes truly deserve the highest praise, is not given the appropriate presentation to complement his work. The problem was not the quality of the food, but the way it was presented to the guest. In a hotel of this calibre, it is precisely these details that can determine whether a stay is simply enjoyable or truly exceptional. Welcome and Personalised Attention to Guests We appreciated the lovely welcome gifts in the form of a beautiful hat and a beach bag. These were practical and thoughtful presents that suited the Maldivian holiday setting perfectly. However, we missed a more personal touch. We did not receive a handwritten welcome card, and the welcome message displayed on the television was addressed exclusively to my partner, even though we were both guests at the resort. This may seem like a minor detail, but at a hotel of this calibre, one would expect both guests to be acknowledged and welcomed with equal personal attention. At other hotels where we have stayed, we have often received handwritten messages, sometimes accompanied by a small treat, chocolates, macarons or another thoughtful gesture. We are not concerned about gifts or additional benefits. What matters most is the feeling that the hotel remembers every guest and knows how to make the welcome feel personal. Conclusion NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort offers a beautiful island, comfortable accommodation, attentive housekeeping, wonderful nature and, above all, cuisine that pleasantly exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was excellent, and certain dishes deserve exceptional praise. The opportunity to watch dolphins and explore the rich underwater world makes the stay even more memorable. Our reservations mainly concern certain details of the guest experience: the presentation of room service and the lack of a personal welcome addressed to both guests. These shortcomings do not diminish the chef’s talent or the quality of the food itself. On the contrary, precisely because the cuisine is of such a high standard, it is all the more disappointing that the presentation of the dishes was not equally carefully considered. In my opinion, attention to detail is what distinguishes a good hotel from a place that can truly delight its guests. A beautiful island and outstanding cuisine are tremendous assets, but when choosing a luxury resort, the entire experience matters to me — from the very first welcome to the smallest detail of a meal served in the privacy of your own villa. I am glad we had the opportunity to discover this place and appreciate its many strengths. The Maldives are beautiful, and our stay was, in fact, fantastic despite these two weaker aspects: room service and the lack of a welcome addressed to both people travelling together.
