Casuarina Resort & Spa

We had a fantastic family holiday at Casuarina and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are a little tired, but we spent very little time in them so this didn’t detract from our holiday. The grounds, swimming pool, bar and dining areas are all well maintained, and there was a great choice of evening entertainment every night. We spent most of our days on the beach, where there were plenty of sun beds and a dedicated area for sea swimming. The kayaks and paddle boards were easy to arrange. We ventured out to Port Louis and Grand Baie on the bus, both of which gave us the opportunity to explore a little more of Mauritius. I recommend visiting Aapravasi Ghat, it’s free to go in. What really made our holiday extra special, though, were the wonderful staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It’s difficult to mention everyone individually but I would like to give a special mention to the following staff members: Emrick – You made our stay extra special. Always helping us with sun beds and delivering drinks all the way to the end of the beach. Augustin – For always remembering our order in advance and making the best Ti’ Punches. Krishna – For making our Tree Tops night so memorable for Mum’s birthday. Good luck in your next adventure! Misti and Jasmine – For always smiling and making us feel like family. You both made our stay extra special. Good look with your internships. Reshma – For the excellent housekeeping and bringing us extra water when we requested it. Mukesh – Your omelettes are the best :) Harsh – An excellent waiter, always providing a great service. Chef Sunil – Your naan bread is the best! Please can you send some to the UK. Sunjay – For allowing us to reserve the best table for our last night. Shivam and Manav – For the efficient service in the bar and restaurants. The lovely lady who works in the gardens who’s name I sadly cannot remember. Thank you for taking the time to speak to us and for keeping the gardens so neat and tidy. A huge thank you to all the team at Casuarina, including those we haven’t mentioned by name. We had a fantastic holiday and would love to return one day.

Just returned from our 5th visit to casuarina. This trip was to celebrate my 60th birthday and our wedding anniversary. The resort delivered a magical experience on the beach allowing for us to entertain our friends and enjoy the Mauritius snacks and cocktails while the sun went down across the stunning bay. This is as always an amazing hotel that just thrives on customer care. As a regular guest we are met by familiar faces that just light up as we walk in. The arrival greetings are out of this world. The reception staff are so helpful and Ashley and Shiva the reception managers are just amazing. Our room was fantastic, the improvements that they are making to the hotel are really starting to add up. The room was spotless and ready early which is a huge plus after travelling for such a long journey. Housekeeping kept our room perfectly throughout our stay and were flexible about times to sort the room if we were being a little lazy. The restaurant and bar staff including managers work extremely hard to please everyone and do an excellent job. The food has a nice variety every meal and offer a good selection of vegetarian options if required. Even if you can’t find exactly what you want a few kind words to one of the managers and just like magic they sort it. They have excellent chefs offering a huge range of different foods but hugging the Mauritius cuisine perfectly. The entertainment team from Fram are working very hard too to make your stay great by making everyone feel included in the fun. Casuarina has a great little dive centre operating from just under the main pool. They offer everything you could need for a great diving experience seeing the norths wreck and reef dive sites. The dive centre would benefit from better advertisement throughout the hotel as it’s a real asset. We are already looking at our next trip back to this fantastic hotel in a fantastic area surrounded by fantastic people. Thank you all at the casuarina hotel and spa. See you early next year.
