LUX* Belle Mare

I had an extremely disappointing experience with their customer service regarding a flight cancellation caused by force majeure—specifically, an active war and the complete closure of airports in my country. Despite these extraordinary and unavoidable circumstances, they showed no understanding or flexibility. They refused to provide a refund and even rejected a simple request to reschedule the flight for a later date. Instead, they offered only a 25% credit to my account (The cancellation request was submitted about six days prior to the booked date). I would not recommend booking with them if you expect fair treatment or support during emergencies.

When you leave a fantastic resort everyone always asks if you’ll go back. Most people say “of course” and then, for whatever reason, never do. We are no different and after our stay here in May 2024 we admitted that there were too many other amazing places to visit and despite having a fantastic time, we wouldn’t return. But circumstances changed and we did return. So, the big question is - how was it the second time? Was it better? Or was it worse? It was so good the first time around that it couldn’t possibly be better, could it? Well, it was! The ‘welcome home’ from so many staff was really heart-warming and sincerely meant but we were shocked, pleasantly shocked that is, at how many staff actually remembered us! As we discovered on our first stay here at LUX* Belle Mare, no matter where you go, no matter what you do, the staff genuinely make you feel appreciated, respected, comfortable. And that still applies, to all levels of all roles. And, as before, our room was spotless. Two years ago, the food was excellent. Now, believe it or not, it is even a little bit better! The buffet in Mondo had previously sometimes lacked a big hitting veg main (we are both veggies) but not anymore. Each time we visited, there were several veg mains to choose from along with a multitude of other dishes. The food (and ambience) in Beach Rouge is excellent and the exceptional menu in Amari by Vineet has been revisited with several extra veg dishes added. Different culture’s cuisine, and how to cook it, has always interested us so we also decided to splash out and take the “private modern Indian masterclass” at Amari by Vineet. After all, where else can you actually go behind the scenes, at a restaurant run by a Michelin starred chef, and be taught how to create a master piece by the best chefs in the world? And what an incredible experience that was. Highly recommended to anyone who is interested in the creation of the best dishes there are. Many, many thanks to chefs Soubi and Ravi for accommodating us. We opted to take part in the yoga classes several times and found them extremely good. Each class varied in intensity and type, with some being ex gratia and some not. Many thanks to Sudesh for those, we really did enjoy them. We’ve wracked our brains yet again to come up with ‘an improvement’ and, to be fair, we can’t! Beautiful hotel, excellent staff could not do enough to make your stay special, nothing was too much trouble. Location absolutely beautiful, white powdery sand clear waters. Food was excellent fresh & so much choice, rooms were fresh roomy & stylish. Definitely recommend, lovely place to chill out & relax.

A heartfelt thank you to Bilal, whose smile and exceptional coffees became our family favorite part every morning, to Dolores for her attentive & genuine care at the main restaurant and to Komal at reception who welcome us with such warmth & kindness throughout our stay. They made us feel less like guests and more like family. 🌴😀😀
