LUX* Grand Gaube

My wife and I have just returned from our third visit to Lux Grand Gaube and without hesitation we can say that this was the best of the lot, which is astonishing especially when you consider that our previous visits were nothing short of incredible. If anyone has read any of my or any other guests previous reviews of Lux Grand Gaube, then you'll already have an idea of what the restaurants have to offer and the facilities available here from the spa to tennis courts, to the stunning views towards the distant islands in the background. However, in this review I really want to take the time to give praise to the people who make this resort so special, the staff. I'll start on the beach, where my wife and I spent so much of our time. Reedoo, the beach manager, continues to ensure that everyone here is looked after from cleaning sunglasses to a little mist spray on your face when it gets really warm. He'll fix just about any request you have for him and if he can't, he'll know the person who does. The consistency of the service across our three different visits prove how much he cares about his job and it really shines through. On this particular visit, we also befriended Kumar who would check in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed and kept us topped up with drinks. We'd also chat about football so Kumar if you're reading this, I promise there's a Celtic jersey coming back with me just for you next year! Also a quick word for Veer, he has moved to the Adults area which my wife and I don't use, however he'd come looking for us to say hello as we got to know him on our last visit, just a brilliant guy and so kind and friendly. Next, over to Creole Smokehouse. Ashwan looks after this restaurant and looked after us brilliantly every time we visited for lunch or dinner. When he stopped to talk to us on our arrival, it was like being greeted by an old friend who you hadn't seen in a while. He asked about the children and how they were doing and really made us feel like we were back home almost immediately. Like our previous visits he continues to accommodate my wife's impromptu cocktail requests and always manages to make something very unique that she'll enjoy. He also created a meal for us one evening at dinner, giving us a taste of everything Mauritian cuisine had to offer. The food was delicious and the menu an unexpected surprise just for us, which was greatly appreciated. On top of all that, each morning my wife and I would come down for breakfast to find our coffee and tea piping hot and sitting on the table already thanks to Ashwan, we felt like rock stars! Special mention also to Romario who also works here, he was so personable, friendly and fun and the service he provided was so professional and impeccable throughout our stay. Ricardo too, always smiling and happy to make allowances for my parmesan fries obsession despite not being on the menu here. Bodrum Blue is the Turkish restaurant and Durgesh and Purgun really looked after us on our visits here. The food is absolutely delicious, but again the attentiveness of the staff is what really makes the experience so great. We had our honeymoon breakfast here and there was a little hiccup with our room number when we arrived, Durgesh solved it immediately and offered little changes to the menu based on our preferences. All completed with a smile and the feeling that nothing was any trouble at all. Purgun also looked after us one evening at dinner, again catering for any requests we had and with real warmth and humour throughout the evening. Should also add that the beef in this restaurant is incredible no matter which option you take, so compliments to the chef. Over at Beach Rouge, Akshay again looked after us every time we were here. He came to chat to us the night of our honeymoon dinner on the beach and again, no special request was too much trouble. He would also made a point of coming over at breakfast and checking to see how we were, such a lovely touch. Special mention also to Adelon and Tsiory who looked after us at this restaurant, both again so professional, attentive and always smiling, thank you. At Palm Court, the buffet and breakfast area, Diren ensured we had everything we needed. Like Ashwan, he came over to speak to us the day we arrived and asked after our family, we really couldn't believe anyone would remember us never mind the kids from four years before. We were quite late to dinner the first night we arrived due to a day's travel, only to find that Diren had ensured we had a table all ready for us as we'd advised him we'd be there. He also arranged for Chef Singh to cook me my favourite curry the first week, then another a few days later for my wife and I. My wife isn't a big fan of curries yet she wolfed the lot! Thank you Diren for everything you did for us, words can't really convey what a difference it made to our stay. I'd also like to take the time to thank a couple of the staff here too. Maira is just new to the resort and is an absolute star. She'd stop and chat whenever she saw us and has such a natural personality for her role, very at ease with herself and the guests and has a big future. Fredy too, just a young guy and fairly new to the role he would come over and make sure we had everything we needed. He was always smiling and conversing with us in his third language, not an easy task but again was so at ease doing so. Thank You. Finally to Inti, the Peruvian restaurant. Yasser looks after this with the brilliant Chef Pedro Burgos. Inti is not part of the All Inclusive package but AI residents can enjoy 20% off when dining here. We had dined here before on a previous visit and had a fantastic experience so we spoke to Yasser and arranged to go back. When we arrived, Yasser apologised for missing us at breakfast as he had a surprise for us. Chef Pedro came across and chatted to us about his passion for the food of his native Peru and asked about our food preferences. He then proceeded to create a special menu for us, offering a little taste of everything that we had discussed. The food was absolutely sensational, we've never had anything like it before and maybe won't until we come back again! The day before we left, Yassercame to us with a little gift of the picture we'd had taken at the restaurant with both him and Chef Pedro along with a special copy of the menu he had created for my wife and I, such a beautiful touch and again so unexpected. Yasser, thank you for treating us with such kindness and respect and making us feel so very special and valued every time you spoke to us. This is a very long review and I make no apologies for that. Our experience on this trip was elevated and enhanced by the desire of the staff to ensure that we were taken care of and felt valued. The hotel's strength is its people and having spoken to Giany, the resort manager, it's something they really believe in and are investing a lot of time and money in to ensure it remains that way. I should also say Giany, thank for taking the time to sit down with us and personally say thank you for our experience. You gave us more time than you probably could afford to given how busy you are. I hope for anyone considering Lux Grand Gaube, that this review gives you a flavour of what you can expect for your experience to be like if you make this your next destination. When you see so many people like ourselves going back for multiple visits, I believe it shows a consistency of service and experience across many years. We've travelled to many different places and have yet to have an experience that comes remotely close to what we have here. The people here are the difference, you'll realise that once you get here.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. Nitisha hosted my daughter’s wedding and put in so much effort to make it a special day. The resort was well run and the staff were amazing, we loved all the restaurants and the rooms were comfy and luxurious.

We had a wonderful lunch at *Bodrum Blue Restaurant at Lux Grand Gaube to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and it was truly a memorable experience.✨ A very special thank you to **Dhiksha**, who looked after us so beautifully. She was exceptionally warm, attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our lunch.Her genuine smile and thoughtful service made us feel so welcome and ensured that everything was perfect for our daughter’s special day. Dhiksha went above and beyond to make the birthday celebration feel extra special. Her kindness, attention to detail, and lovely personality made a real difference to our experience. We had our wedding at LUX, and the entire experience was absolutely amazing. It’s a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location, with excellent food and a great range of water activities, but what truly made our stay so special was the staff. Everyone we encountered was kind-hearted, attentive, exceptionally friendly and professional, and they made both us and our family feel incredibly welcome. A very special shout-out to Nitisha, who went above and beyond to make our wedding day and our family’s stay so memorable. She helped us navigate all the paperwork with ease, meticulously organised every detail, and was incredibly accommodating with all of our requests. Her warmth, patience and attention to detail made such a difference, and we’re genuinely so grateful for everything she did for us. Thank you to the entire LUX team for making such an important occasion feel truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

What a most amazing experience at an incredible setting. We weee blown away, the pics we saw on the internet looked amazing but in real life it is just so much more. Friendly staff, exceptional food, world class facilities coupled with the most idyllic setting is a recipe for sheer relaxation and downtime. The palm court restaurant, Fredi our friendly waiter, so many wonderful memories. Thank you for making our trip truly the best experience we have ever had.
