Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing experience! The shisha was excellent, with great flavour and smooth smoke. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a great place to chill, enjoy a shisha, and spend time with friends.

Let me start with the good points. The resort is lovely, friendly helpful staff, clean, good food. But there is an 'animal farm' and 'dog sanctuary' which fall well below any animal welfare standard. 1 dog in very poor health been in a concrete caged area for more than a week. Yesterday 2 more dogs joined him. There have been times when the water container had no water and food is scarce. Twice I raised concerns with hotel management and offered to pay for veterinary care and to adopt one dog. They advised Mauritius Society for Animal Care take the dogs. But in a week no action has been taken. I also emailed the Society with photos and have had no response. For a hotel of this size with thousands of tourists spending vast sums of money, some of it should be invested into the animals welfare. There is a shed with many goats shut in. The fence has too large a gap in the railing enclosure, so goats have to stay locked in a shed. Fix the fence. There is a cover over the rabbits and chickens but this is not waterproof so when it rains the animals get wet. And it rained the first week of our holiday. Large tortoises in an area with no grass and little food. For a hotel to advertise a farm and sanctuary as a guest attraction they need to make changes to give food, water and shelter to the animals and provide veterinary care. When a guest raises concerns (and I'm not the only one), then management need to put procedures in place to improve the situation not report back the animals are ok and being looked after. Particularly when I've personally offered to adopt and sponsor veterinary care. What should have been a lovely holiday has been marred by the attitude and lack of care for the animals. Sort it out Maritim.

From the moment I set foot in the Foyer of the hotel, I was blown away by everything my eyes saw. The staff at reception made me feel like family and not just another guest.They were so Awesome. The team in the restaurant also blew me away with their fantastic service they provided. To top this, I was thrilled to meet a fellow South African, Liam L, one of the chefs at the restaurant, who made me feel like real family. My experience at Maritim Resort was of such High Standard, the views and settings so unreal, but enough to make me want to return to this little paradise. I want to dedicate a special shout out to the following persons: Manav, Antish, Sanjeev, Mir, Deven, Vic, Yogesh,Paolo, Eve, Dianah and Liam. You can be very proud that you are such a bunch of dedicated, superfriendly and Awesome staff,flying the flag High for Maritim. Our 4th Visit – Still Our Favourite Place in Mauritius We have just returned from our fourth visit to the Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius, having spent 12 nights at the resort from 6th September, and once again we have come home with so many wonderful memories. There is a reason we keep coming back to the Maritim. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel genuinely welcome, and throughout our stay the warmth, friendliness and professionalism of the staff really stood out. It is the people who make this resort so special, and on this visit, as with our previous three, we were made to feel more like returning friends than hotel guests. The resort itself remains beautiful. The extensive grounds are wonderfully maintained, with lush tropical gardens, waterways, waterfalls and historic ruins making it a pleasure to walk around. Even after four visits, we still find ourselves discovering little corners and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The setting on Turtle Bay is simply stunning, and there is something very special about being able to relax on the beach surrounded by such beautiful scenery. Our room was comfortable, spacious and beautifully looked after, with the housekeeping team doing an excellent job throughout our 12-night stay. The food and choice of restaurants continue to be a real highlight. There is plenty of variety, whether you fancy a relaxed lunch by the beach, an evening meal in one of the speciality restaurants or dinner in the main restaurant. The quality and presentation were consistently very good, and we particularly enjoyed being able to vary our dining experience throughout such a long stay. The beach service deserves a special mention too. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and do everything they can to make your day relaxing. Sitting by the sea, enjoying a drink and watching the world go by is still one of our favourite things to do here. We also made good use of some of the activities and facilities during our stay, and the spa remains a wonderful place to unwind. There really is something for everyone, whether you want to be active or simply switch off and relax. One of the great things about returning to a resort for the fourth time is that you notice the little things — familiar faces, staff remembering you, and that feeling of being somewhere that has become a very special part of your holidays. A huge thank you to everyone at the Maritim for another fantastic 12 nights. We have now stayed four times, and each visit gives us another reason to return. The staff at Maritim Resort in Mauritius only know top class service. Myself and my new wife witnessed 5 star treatment across the resort for our honeymoon. Azagen and his team at the Q Deck Bar were amazing: Azagen personally looked after us from morning to night with elite service, Adriano the bar tender was so friendly and made excellent cocktails, with servers Grace and Yvette providing such warm and friendly service. Davisan and his team at Lamaree restaurant also provided us with incredible service, he personally made sure we were looked after every night we visited and the food was phenomenal. They all made our honeymoon special and would recommend the resort to anyone.
