Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius

(So sorry for the late review!) We had a fantastic stay at Maritim Resort and honestly couldn’t fault the staff. From the moment we arrived, everyone went out of their way to make our holiday as enjoyable, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. This was particularly appreciated, as one member of our family is disabled, and the care and consideration shown to us throughout our stay meant a great deal. There are so many wonderful members of staff we would like to thank personally (apologies for any spelling mistakes / confusion about role titles!): Cynthia, the Guest Manager; Antish, the Manager; Kiran, the Executive Chef; Azagen, the Bar Manager; Jones and Grace at the bar; Deven, the Restaurant Manager; Vimla, the Restaurant Supervisor; Uma and Lydia, our lovely waitresses; Aartee and Arjun, who looked after our rooms; Kavish at reception; Hansha, the Spa Manager; Stella at the towel bar; and Patrick, the chef at the beach restaurant, as well as many others whose names we unfortunately didn’t catch. A particularly special thank you has to go to Kiran, who made sure there were plenty of vegetarian options for us every day, often preparing dishes especially for us. He even arranged wonderful birthday cakes for three special birthdays we celebrated during our stay. The family is still missing the cardamom tea! Azagen and Jones also deserve a special mention. After we made a passing comment about the speed of service, not even a complaint and more of a remark about the level of busyness in the hotel, they took it upon themselves to ensure we were looked after promptly from then on. That level of attentiveness really summed up our experience of the staff throughout the resort. The resort itself is beautiful, with lovely views and so many different areas to discover. We particularly enjoyed the spa and the animal sanctuary, where the youngest member of our group fell in love with the ancient tortoises and rescued dogs! Four members of our family also booked a horse ride, which isn’t included in the all-inclusive package but was a fantastic experience and well worth doing. We really couldn’t have wished for a more relaxing and stress-free family holiday. It was the little extras, the personal touches and, above all, the genuinely lovely people that made the stay so memorable. With the majority of the group getting older, and travelling such long distances is getting increasingly more difficult, we are so graateful. We can’t wait to come back. I want to compliment the hotel on their staff. With really anyone from housekeeping, reception, restaurants and spa we had great experiences. Very accommodating. We asked to change our booking (since we had booked two different rooms in one stay and would have had to change rooms) that was kindly accepted. Yoga introduction class was great - learned a couple of new Yoga poses. The snorkeling trip is quite short but fun for kids. You’ll see little fish but nothing fancy. It’s worth exploring the tiny little coral reef right at the hotel beach. We saw a lionfish, a pufferfish and some tiny moray eels. Last but not least- the food was wonderful- we had the Indian buffet and went to the BBQ barefoot restaurant- they always have some kids friendly choices like Margarita pizza as well. All in all- 100% recommendation to other families!!

I just love this hotel. Have been there already multiple times. What I love most and what makes such an impact is the staff. They’re just so amazing. At the entrance Kishen is waiting - always respectful, helpful & attentive, with a big smile. At the reception Chaya was already waiting to help & support with everything. She’s such an angel & has an amazing character! At the buffet Kiran Ramkalawon & Ramful Karansingh helped me sooooo much! These are two of the chefs. I have Celiac disease and they took it so serious, always helped me out and were so friendly! You could really feel they were doing it with their heart and not just because of work. Without them, my stay there would’ve felt so much different and I am so grateful for them. Amazing experience all the time, thank you!!

Lovely resort especially October! Picturesque sunsets...you wont need to travel to flic and flac or anywhere else. Staff are brilliant, Devan is meticulous in his work and gives you your first glimpse of Mauritian peope and sets the bar really high. Daveson and his team and La Maree are phenomenal, truly make you feel welcomed and passionate about their jobs, oh!and try the Shisha from Hesh at La Maree, shisha King of Mauritius!
