Bahia Principe Explore Akumal

One of the absolute highlights of our two week holiday at Bahia Principe was the entertainment team, especially Oscar and Mariana! We played beach volleyball pretty much every single day, and it quickly became something we genuinely looked forward to. Not just because of the games, but because of the incredible atmosphere these two created. We met some amazing people, made new friends and shared so many laughs along the way. Oscar and Mariana are fantastic at what they do. Always smiling, full of energy, welcoming everyone and making sure nobody feels left out. They have that natural ability to bring people together, which is exactly what makes a holiday memorable. As someone who works in hospitality, I really appreciate people who genuinely care about the guest experience, and these two absolutely deserve recognition. They’re a huge asset to Bahia Principe Akumal. A massive thank you to both of you for the laughs, the volleyball matches and the wonderful memories. You made our holiday even more special, and we hope to see you again when we return! Absolute legends! 🙌🏐🇲🇽

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best parts of our yearly family trips to Bahia Principe Akumal is seeing the wonderful Privilege Club concierge team again. Narendra, Lorena, Gustavo, Alejandro, and Carlitos always greet us with such warmth and make us feel like we’re returning to family. Also, Leidy from beach drinks service. Their service deserves more than five stars. They take such wonderful care of us, and the kindness and personal attention they bring to every visit mean so much to our whole family. We always feel remembered, appreciated, and welcome. Thank you all for making our time at Akumal so special year after year. A beautiful resort is wonderful, but people like you are what make it unforgettable. We can’t wait to see you again!

We have now stayed at Bahía Príncipe Akumal three times, and once again we have had a fantastic holiday. The resort is all-inclusive, we have eaten in the à la carte restaurants every night, enjoyed whatever drinks we wanted and, throughout our stay, the staff have been absolutely wonderful. They work incredibly hard, are friendly and welcoming, and do their very best to make sure guests have a great experience. What I do find disappointing is the amount of negative press this hotel receives from some returning guests. Reading some reviews, you would think the place was completely unacceptable, yet our experience has been the complete opposite. I do wonder sometimes whether certain guests have become so accustomed to coming back year after year that they expect everything to be exactly as it was, or perhaps even better, and forget just how much the hospitality industry has changed since Covid. Hotels and resorts have faced enormous challenges since the pandemic — staffing, rising costs, supply issues and huge changes within the industry. The people working in hospitality are still doing their best every single day, often under incredibly difficult circumstances. Of course, if something genuinely goes wrong, guests have every right to raise it. But there is a big difference between highlighting a genuine problem and expecting absolute perfection, while finding fault with every little thing. For us, Bahía Príncipe Akumal continues to be a wonderful place to spend our holiday. We have returned three times because we enjoy it, we love the atmosphere, the food, the drinks and, most importantly, the people. Sometimes, rather than constantly asking what more a hotel can give us, perhaps we should take a moment to appreciate what is already being provided. We will definitely be back. ❤️🌴🍹Mr & Mrs Webster Room 5001
