Bahia Principe Explore Tulum

I stayed here for 12 days with my partner and another couple and let me tell you it was nothing short of paradise, the rooms were amazing and clean, the resort was beautiful and full of atmosphere, the food was spectacular, choice of jumping into one of the many pools for a game of water polo before going to the swim up bar for a refreshing drink, or 5 steps away is a beautiful beach to relax in the sun, they will make sure your every need is met, no matter your age or where you come from, they have something for everybody, the staff there are angels and bend over backwards to look after you and make sure you have an unforgettable time, I hope everyone who goes to gran bahia principe can appreciate the same, big shout to Carlos parra and the rest of the entertainment team for making it the best holiday you could dream of, every chef, waiting staff, bartender, cleaners, drivers, ground keepers, market workers, security, spa workers, and to anyone else I missed in the hundreds of amazing staff we met in those 12 glorious days we cannot wait to come back and enjoy again soon!!

Partner and I visited Bahia Principe Tulum at the start of May for 10 days. We’d read some pretty mixed reviews but overall had a very nice time. Top tip download the Bahia app before arrival and check yourself in 10 days before arrival, makes check in quicker and you can book your al a cart restaurants. Arrival/Room - check in was super quick due to checking in via that app in the UK (all you need is your booking reference- it’s not hard). On booking in we were told we had a non-refurbished room and we could up grade if we wanted for $100, we decided to see the room first. Other than having an older look the room was perfectly adequate, massive bed, shower/bath set up in the bathroom, air con that work well - however I would have preferred if it went colder. Surprisingly additional things that would be expected at a 4 or 5 star hotel were not provided in the bathroom - no amenity kit or such items, there was a small hair dryer in the bathroom. Mini bar was included and replenished each day, annoyingly there was no pad and pen so we couldn’t leave a note asking for no alcohol in the bar - the mini bar was included however. Room was always cleaned well daily. We had a room in building 337. Pool/beach area - pool area was clean and well maintained. Bar men in main pool worked very hard and the entertainment team worked non stop. Foam pool party was on Sunday and that was a lot of fun! The beach at Tulum is unusable due to the sea weed - of course uncontrollable by the hotel but something to be aware of when booking for May. Food - the main buffet was the same food repeated each day, morning breakfast was nice, lunch was fairly boring when you’ve eaten there every day for ten days and dinner was varied in quality (would recommend going to the food truck for variety, chicken tenders and burger are delish there!), some food appeared to have been sat for ages and other was not replenished quick enough - again not the 5 star standard expected. However, pasta bar, freshly cooked fish and meats was very nice. The al a cart restaurants; we ate at the Mexican restaurant twice and throughly enjoyed that, the Brazilian restaurant was fantastic, we booked the Japanese restaurant where food was made in front of you - this was really disappointing, bland uninspiring food, the Peruvian restaurant was delicious highly recommended that, and had dinner at Don Pablo gourmet again very nice! Strangely enough the main thing we noticed in regards to the main buffet restaurant was a total lack of spoons, they were never laid out and rarely given when you ordered a hot drink or had a dessert - very strange and annoying. Trips - we went to Chichen Itza (3 hours away), Playa del Carmen (30 mins), Xplor park (30 mins). Overall, the Bahia Principe Tulum is a good hotel, is it luxurious? No. Is it a good hotel for an all inclusive holiday away? Yes and I would recommend but would not describe as a 5 star hotel.

We just returned from 7 days at this resort. I will admit leading up to our trip I was nervous watching all these terrible comments and reviews roll in, so much so that we almost switched locations. But I am SO GLAD WE DID NOT. We had an absolutely amazing week. The staff was absolutely next level and do everything in their power to ensure your trip is filled with amazing memories. Our main bartenders, Francisco and Librado at the main pool were our best friends. They remembered us from our first day and always had our orders memorized and our names. Then we had the entertainment team. This team worked so hard to ensure everyone was having a great time, from evening events to daytime pool activities they had it all. Special shout out to Carlos 1 and Carlos 2, Job and Edgar for making our trip extra fun and engaging. And lastly, the waitstaff. They go so far out of their way to remember your drink preferences and your names, it’s amazing. Special shout out to Daniel who always made a point of shouting our names and chatting with us, and Jesus who was happy to deliver tequila shots from the minute we arrived for lunch. We arrived expecting mediocre food and limited staffing and we were met with the complete opposite. Yes, the buffet is closed certain days but they put you into à la cartes instead, which is always a nice experience. We will absolutely be back with our kids because we were completely blown away by the level of care, the cleanliness, the friendliness and the overall vibe of this resort.

Visited Bahía Príncipe Tulum for 2 weeks and it was absolutely incredible! The room was beautiful (upgraded room so very modern) and aircon was great, room cleaning services were impeccable. The pools and overall hotel was exactly what we wanted and 100 times better than the pictures online. So much wildlife to see and beach was stunning. The Origin show was so incredible with a cirque du soliel feel, the performers were of such amazing standard. The foam party was amazing with the CoCo Bongos promoters there, which was also an insane trip booked through our TUI rep Carla (really helpful). The star of the show was Edgar on the entertainment. He worked day and night to give guests the best holiday experience. He gave so much time to the guests and even sat down to watch the football with my boyfriend and get to know us throughout the holiday. This guy needs a raise!!!!! Overall best holiday everrrrrr 🇲🇽🎉🏖️🏝️

Not a bad resort, food was repetitive. The drinks were good . It was a extremely large resort with a 10 minute shuttle ride to the beach!
