Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel

My solo travel to Blue Diamond was at the end of August- Sept. For me itv was a trip to regroup and plan. Path forward. I chose this one because it was a small 128 room, adult, lush, 5 star resort on the beach in the Mayan Rivera. It did not disappoint. This resort is unusual as it is situated within a lush tropical forest - spread out from lobby to beach over 2 km. Cart path through the mangroves. Rooms spread out so very private. The grounds have regional wildlife - spider monies, iguanas, Coatis (Mexican racoons) crocodiles, turtles and birds to name a few. They can often be spotted on your travels within the resort. You can travel the distance by foot, bicycle or cart on request. The time I was there was off season so very quiet - not many people and some of them facilities were closed and activities limited but this did not diminish the service or quality of service and availability of food and beverage. Yes the resort is a little older and has some wear but still offers luxurious rooms, food services and surroundings. Beautiful white sandy, palm tree lined beach - beach service - beautiful turquoise waters. Yes the beaches do have seaweed that comes in but the staff do an admiral hard task of clearing the beach daily. Now for the food - gastronomically delicious - fresh, mouth watering food to entice the eyes and taste buds. My late husband and I were part of the food and beverage industry in Canada all our lives and privy to the most delicious foods. The Blue Diamond hits all marks every time. Bravo. I lucked out the week I was there - blue skies, turquoise waters every day and although humid in the property the beach and restaurant area always had a gentle refreshing breeze to cool you off. The rooms also had good air conditioning to cool you off after a day out. I cannot say enough about the friendly, dedicated and efficient, attentive staff. They were always there for you and your needs. Poolside you always had fresh towels, comfy loungers, umbrellas - poolside service - when arriving there you are brought a bucket of ice and bottles of water and you can order beverages and food from your server. Felt very pampered. The resort offers everyone so much. Spa, water sports, classes on wine and food tasting, low key entertainment in busier season. This place should be on your destination list - it’s now on mine and I’m returning the week of Oct 30. - cant wait!*********** Note - very private in that every guest is asked to sign an agreement on arrival that no photos of guests or staff be taken unless the person agrees to it. Not a great experience at all . Limited bicycles and guests hide them in bedrooms to ensure they don’t get stolen . Food poor with little choice and staff not happy to be around guests . The pool is freezing and not many people use it because it’s so cold . Long walks to get to Resturant . You can call a taxi / golf cart but sometimes it doesn’t turn up . Crocodile pond is smelly and not pleasant at all . Long paths and not good if you can’t walk far or disabled . Ready for a big refurb as it all is very dated . Sea and beach good but sun beds are uncomfortable . Not a 5* hotel . Staff ask you to make a review . Not good & wont be revisiting .

Spa, food, rooms and staff all amazing

The resort amenities are great, but Diana's outstanding service made all the difference. She brings so much passion, professionalism, and positive energy to her work. Blue Diamond stands out for its calm, authentic feel and amazing energy compared to other hotels in the area. It really has its quiet charm about it. I fell in love with this place!
