HM Playa del Carmen

Excellent, clean hotel. Superb breakfast. We filled up every morning and therefore didn’t need lunch. Clean room with large comfortable bed. Difficult to dial in a good temperature in the shower; either scalding hot or cold! Enjoyed the pool. We were able to get clean towels on demand and could take these towels on trips out. I found the towel policy a bit confusing; on certain days and certain times, new towels were unavailable (at least that was the rule. Each time I talked my way into a towel!!) The food by the pool was good and not a terrible price. Happy hour cocktails - 2 for the price of 1 as long as they were the same. Late check-out. Would have liked a kettle in the room. Very well-located. Room cleaning was efficient and we had to fix the blind which was done within 5 minutes of calling. Very nice stay

We love this hotel, but to be honest we had a couple of hiccups at check in. This is our third, 10 day stay. We booked this 7 months in advance and requested a king bed in a city view, terrace room. When we arrived, we were told no kings were available. Then when we went to pay for our stay, it was $40 US more than our booking total. I showed them their receipt of the total without taxes, plus the total with taxes and the final balance due at check in. They said it's another tax for Quintana Roo. If that is the case, that should be stated on your booking confirmation. In the past, the breakfast buffet was a pretty good start to the day. This trip, we felt that a lot of the time the food was cold. Now the positive....the Staff...Fabian, Gabriel, Edwin, Raul and Roman. They work so hard, are kind and one of the biggest reasons we return. Thank you!! In closing, we most likely will stay here again, we are just hoping they will address our concerns.

Nice cozy and clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet was generous and good quality. The pool area is quiet and the greenery around is a big plus. We stayed in #217, no outside noise. The only con was pillows. No options to choose from.

Great hotel! We were there six years ago and now came back, after we had to leave our original hotel because it was really bad. HM did not disappoint! Rooms very clean and comfortable! Pool area also very good with excellent cocktails. Short walk to many restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back a third time!

Just back from 2 week stay. Absolutely fantastic. Great place and location was perfect. So peaceful yet just a couple of mins to 5th Avenue (which we didn't spend much time on). Breakfast was great as was the huge comfy bed and great shower. Staff all very friendly. Carolina is often in reception area and we booked our tours with her - a great deal for Isla Mujeres and Xcaret and pick up point just across the road. Playa 72 was a peaceful beach away from the crowds if not using the pool area. El Fogon just along the road. Street Food Co just across road was delicious. Thai place 5 mins away was top (worth booking as small place) and Lost Tiki, about ten mins walk was brilliant and we ate there 3 times. Great food, cocktails and even better tunes. Highly recommend this hotel - so cheap to eat out so b and b ideal. We had a couple of cocktails during happy hour and was the only poor thing we encountered. Stuck to the XX beers and only £2.00 which was great for a 4 star place. If heading back I would deffo stay here again.
