Ocean Coral Turquesa

Overall we were pleased with our stay and feel that most staff go above and beyond for the guests each day. Our room was spotless each day and we felt there was a wide choice of food that was being frequently replenished and checked for temperature. Additionally, it was nice to see that there was a Mexican food area, especially being in Mexico. Furthermore, it was nice to be served drinks in the restaurant for each meal and by Jemima around the pool - thank you Jemima you made our stay extra special. There is a wide variety of restaurants included throughout your stay which was lovely to experience. Now, to the main issue. The Sargasam. It is HORRENDOUS. We are aware that it is natural, however down in Puerto Morelos, there is a barrier to reduce it, so that you can actually get on to the beach and swim in the sea. Additinally, other hotels in the area are clearing the beach to make it accessible for guests. Ocean Coral is doing absolutely nothing about it. We stayed for two weeks and the smell just kept getting worse and worse, to the point we were beginning to heave when leaving our room in the morning towards the end of the holiday. It really did let our stay down, as we love to go on to the beach and into the sea as a family and a reason why we book a beach hotel. We feel that we should have been notified that the beach was not accessible during our stay prior to arriving - not when we arrive and making us sign a document about it. Adding to this, the holiday provider do make you aware Sargasm can be present but the hotel is doing all it can. Leaving it to gather and rot is not taking action. Maybe the hotel should provide a free shuttle into Puerto Morelos? Especially as the hotel animation say "Feel the Ocean" everyday as a motto, yet you can't even get onto the beach! This was the only thing that let our stay down, overall we had a good stay and would return if the beach situation was resolved.

We didnt bother with the beach for that reason Restaurants - lots fo them A Route 66 pub and comfort food open late night They have a BBQ restaurant (Bocanaro) , Taco place , A coffee house with bake goods and smoothies , Japanese restaurant , Italian all very good Buffet -very good lots of selections to pick from Shows - excellent a show every night and was excellent , Silent dance party They lots of theme nights , fun things going on Dancing by the pool at night

The hotel is located about 25–30 minutes from the airport. The resort is spacious and well laid out. We stayed in the adults-only section, which I highly recommend. The adults-only pool was clean and spacious, with a restaurant reserved exclusively for adults right in front of it, a great plus for peace and comfort. In comparison, the two other pools on the resort were much more crowded, which meant they were less well-maintained: there was sand at the bottom and the water was a bit murky. That said, the atmosphere remained fun and lively. At the time of our stay (June 2025), the beach was completely inaccessible due to a large accumulation of seaweed (sargassum). Unfortunately, this significantly impacted our overall experience, as we weren’t able to enjoy the ocean. In addition, there was a persistent smell of sulfur in the air, especially in the mornings, something to keep in mind if you’re pregnant or sensitive to smells, as it can cause nausea. That being said, the staff truly exceeded our expectations. We were a group celebrating a bachelorette party, and the team went out of their way to make us feel special throughout the trip: organized activities, little gifts, surprises, and warm, attentive service. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised. The meals were tasty and varied, with several à la carte restaurants and great cocktails. One downside, however, was the restaurant reservation system: you have to book very early the same morning, and spots fill up quickly. There’s no option to book in advance, which can be frustrating if you don’t wake up early enough. Overall, it was a lovely experience, with a few areas for improvement. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

Lovely hotel, amazing food, absolutely lovely cafe (Mike's), lovely friendly staff, I personally loved the quiet pool and the gym, my 7yr old daughter fell in love with Lluvia at the kids club and had a brilliant time with her for two weeks, my teen sons loved playing water activities in the fun pool with the bar. Foam pool parties were much fun for all. The Sensai and Mexican restaurants were lovely too, though a bit of a struggle to book them. Privilege folk also got ahead of us. Unfortunate about the seaweed situation too and the hotel could have definitely done more cleaning so it doesn't mount up so badly, though it wouldn't have been possible to get into the sea either way, given they couldn't use nets due to the local coral reef. Booked an amazing boat trip via Fransisco at the water sports hut by the pool. He was great to find us a good private boat to Isla Mujeres. Beautiful beach out there.. A trip to Chichenitsa and senote is a must for all. Overall, a great family holiday. Would love to experience it with beach access outside the seaweed season and also after the planned refurbishment.

can't say enough about the kindness of the people here. In a world where real hospitality is rare, this hotel gets it right. They remembered small details, checked in to make sure we were comfortable, and treated me like family rather than guests. You feel the family atmosphere in the best way. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. The staff was top notch!
