Riu Lupita

Stunning location set in the playacar region of Mexico. The walk around the hotel was lovely the grounds are very well taken care of and beautiful. A 10 minute bus ride to the beach which is provided by the hotel giving you time to take in the area of playacar. The beach club is immaculate and the bar restaurant area gives a real nice touch and a sense of relaxation whilst on the beach. Hotel atmosphere was great. Reception staff very polite and always helpful. The bar staff especially Delphino & Blanca were all lovely and couldn’t do more if they tried. The main buffet had a great selection of food at all meal times even for the fussy ones including me 😁. Our server for most of our evening meals in the buffet area Saymon is a credit to the Riu brand ( Give this guy a black shirt😁) we have travelled to many Riu hotels across the globe & Saymon is the best server we have ever met. He goes above and beyond. Self taught English so he can communicate easier with English speaking guests, his manners are impeccable, nothing was ever to much trouble for him, overall we would say he is a great asset to the Riu Lupita. Cleanliness of the hotel is 5 star, everywhere we looked no matter what time of the day there was someone cleaning. Our room was a bungalow and very well kept and cleaned everyday with fresh towels. We came to this hotel for our 5th wedding anniversary and on arrival to our room we were greeted with a towel art, bottle of bubbly & a lovely letter from the Riu management, a real lovely touch. We didn’t go to the steak house so can’t comment but heard others saying how good it was, the Mexican restaurant was lovely and the food was amazing, the food in the Italian was great our only criticism would be that it was too small to be a restaurant and felt like an extension to the bar. Entertainment we can’t comment on as after the wonderful days and dinner in the evenings we were tired and retired to the comfort of our room. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and will 100% be back. Thank you for making our stay so memorable 😁

Me an my husband went 20th sept till thurs 1st oct, its a lovely hotel an grounds are beautifull. We stayed on ground floor by the enterance which was good for access to places easy. The recption was friendly an helpfull an checked us in quick with a free drink. The rooms are dated an do need upgrade. Could benift from some comfy chairs, an new pillows as to thin. Becarefull with the tables an bedside cabinets as the glass top is not surcure. The food was plenty but most was cold or lukewarm an was repeated alot. The app didnt work propley so couldnt book steakhouse which does close some days. Never went italian, an try the mexican but said were full but had about 3 or 4 tables empty. An cant pre book a tables. The staff are lovely an friendly an do relie on tips but dont have tip if dont want to. The shuttle bus to beach an 5th ave was fine an comftable an does run on the time schudle . We did love mexico but if go back would be for day of the dead an prob stay round 5th ave

The staf was lovely! I lost my phone in a cab (my last day) and the manager at the reception: he was my helping guardian angel! After one our the taxi brought my phone back, thanks to him! The Mexican people: i realy love them. But: (to be honest) to me it was not a 5 star hotel (what i payd for) Food was never hot enough cooked, and was every day the same. But the most worse: the animals: they even steal your drinks out of your hand, outside eating was not posible (they jump on the table) Thats going out of control. But the country and the people, that was superb!! (greets from Anna Maria)

this is a really nice friendly place to stay, great location, friendly atmosphere good value , the room was clean and fresh. the staff were so friendly and helpful, there was a show or something most nights . An all round nice friendly hotel, would definitly go back

Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and did everything they could to make the holiday good. We had a fabulous time. Spotless. Use of the Riu app was great, need shampoo for example order on the app. Mini bar stocked every two days but if you needed anything order on the app. Steak house was great, this is the only restaurant you need to book. You do this on the app. Just one thing the bus takes you there and brings you back but 21:45 is too late, everyone has finished eating by 9, have a think about changing this to 21:15 pick up. Simon in the Italian restaurant and steak house was excellent huge shout out to him. Food in buffet is great too. Limited menus in the Italian and Mexican but food is great. Wildlife is lovely too. Highly recommend this hotel but if management is reading this please take note of my suggestion re return bus from the steakhouse.
