Riu Ventura

The team at Ventura never found anything to be too much trouble and always went above and beyond to make our stay special. The hotel was consistently spotless, the food was impeccable, and every member of staff was friendly, professional, and welcoming. It was a truly remarkable experience, made even better by the outstanding Ventura team. A special shout-out to Jonathan from the entertainment team—he is a real credit to the hotel. We’d also like to thank the fantastic team in the main restaurant for their excellent service throughout our stay. Thank you, Riu Ventura, for a wonderful and unforgettable holiday. What a fantastic experience we’ve had these last 14 days at Riu Ventura. We could not speak more highly of this hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with comfy beds and great walk-in showers. The beach and pools are excellent (a tip – the pool overlooking the beach on the northerly side adjacent to the buffet restaurant is in shadow for the afternoon which suited us but may not suit everyone). Staff work incredibly hard to maintain cleanliness of the hotel throughout. We used all but one of the à la carte restaurants (we didn’t try the gourmet restaurant). Food here was excellent, although à la carte main choices are limited and starters are presented buffet style. The buffet restaurant has a massive choice and service is mostly attentive. If you’re familiar with a buffet style all inclusive then this will exceed your expectations. Alcoholic beverages are branded and we found the drinks excellent (I know some reviews suggested alcohol had been watered down but we did not feel this was the case). We used the local bus to La Isla which cost just 12 Mexican pesos each and was very safe although hot! My son also played golf at The Riviera Cancun golf resort which was just 15 minutes on a shuttle bus, and the hotel organised this booking for us. Seaweed on the beach was visible throughout our stay but it was not intrusive unlike when we stayed at Riviera Maya a few years ago where the seaweed at times prevented us entering the water. The hotel takes action to clear the seaweed on a daily basis.Lifeguards are visible and alert. Pool towel arrangements are excellent with the option to swap towels daily. The hotel does not quite live up to international five star standards but overall an excellent choice and only 20 minutes from the airport. We would most certainly recommend it to anyone thinking of a stay and wanting to be on Cancun’s signature white sandy beach.

Very clean and great customer service. Music and entertainment was great. Not to mention the food. Had a lot of locations on site to pick from.

We had an exceptional time at the Riu Ventura. The double room we had with two bathrooms made the trip extremely easy for our multigenerational family. We had a great view, and the room was very clean when we arrived. The food was great, though we did not care for the Asian restaurant. However, all of the hotel staff from manager to janitor were very kind and polite. The staff really would go out of their way to help us. I would highly recommend staying at this fabulous resort.

Location is good. Pools were closed due to vomit, rooms nice cause they are new but without amenities like shampoo or lotion. Night life is not existent (unless you travel to another RIU by bus)- but do singing competitions in Spanish mostly and honestly boring. All restaurants are casual dress with mostly buffet offerings. Just not what I had expected. Pool area floor is a miss with hot hot tiles and super slippery. Kids areas aren’t defined and lunch at the pool is absolutely a gross buffet. Would not stay here again. Super sad to be so new, yet really missing the mark. If you want better - stay at the other RIU’s that actually have nightlife and more accommodations. Lost bracelets in the ocean cost $120 cash too - pool side photos are $400. Don’t be fooled. But if you like super BASIC - this is for you.
