Beautiful beach snorkeled everyday, delicious food, gorgeous grounds and loved our room. Wonderful staff- our concierge Jose spectacular. The spa with Ana and Yasmin. Enjoyed Perla’s energetic healing and sound healing in the mornings. Enjoyed the sea turtle experience with Sena and Eric. Most of all love Rodrigo his energy, kindness and love- our favorite. Thank you for a beautiful week with my momma of love, pampering and fun.

This resort was so incredibly hard to leave and we will be counting down the days until we come back! The service was incredible. They were always anticipating our needs and doing everything they could to be one step ahead. The entertainment team, especially Oscar, was amazing and made every activity even more fun. We did the jungle and bike tour and both were so much fun. The snorkeling right off the beach is ideal for those who like to be busy on vacation. Every day I would lay on the beach while my husband would snorkel for hours. We saw many kinds of fish, sting rays and even a nurse shark, it was incredible! I feel like this resort may have set the bar a little too high because now I'm afraid to go anywhere else. 10/10 recommend

What an amazing experience, from start to finish Secrets Akumal nailed it! Upon arrival we were met by Angel and Raymundo who put us at ease after a long day of travelling, finding the perfect balance between providing key information but not overloading us whilst very tired. After a night of rest we made the most of what the resort had to offer and every single member of staff had a welcoming smile and made us feel right at home. We particularly liked the attention to detail from members of staff, remembering names, making an effort to chat to us and always going that extra mile, without being too intense or overly attentive. Around the pool and bars, a special shoutout must go to Ricardo, Moises and Ana, who made a real effort to ensure our every need was catered for with a smile on the side. I cannot recommend the staff in the daytime enough. I would say however that the restaurant teams do not perform to quite the same level as the daytime pool team, we found the service in Bordeaux and the front of house team to be slow and not so welcoming on more than one occasion. However the food was always great and they did seem very busy. We also felt the lighting in the preferred club lounge was very bright and could be dimmer in the evenings as the vibe didn’t feel as relaxing as the rendevouz bar. Finally i would like to say thank you to Carlos, what a guy! We have not laughed so much in quite some time, his bingo was a real highlight with some funny jokes and a great time! He even went out of his way to find us a day later to give us the entertainment team t-shirt i said i really wanted to win, now that is service! He is the MVP of customer service at Secrets Akumal and you are lucky to have such a great guy. We will hopefully be back soon and would like to say Thank you to your amazing team, next time family!!

The hotel is truly stunning. The rooms are spacious and clean. All of their various buildings have their own Concierge that looks after the guests. The food is of high quality and the hotel is in synch with nature. And sometimes you might come across an Agouti or snorkeling around turtles. But what made this trip even more remarkable for us are all of the Employees at the hotel. EVERYONE we met was so welcoming, warm and helpful. An absolute delight!! If we lived closer to Mexico, we would be regular guests here. We are now using this experience as a benchmark for our future trips. A truly remarkable hotel but probably the most friendliest and most welcoming staff you'll ever meet.

My husband and I (both late 50's) just spent 2 weeks in this stunning resort for our honeymoon. Between us, the one and only slight negative thing to say is that the pools could do with a little TLC, they're looking a little tired, but I'm sure maintenance is ongoing to keep the resort so beautiful, so I'm sure they're on the to-do list. Otherwise 100/10. The beach is so relaxing and beautiful, plenty of loungers and palapas, and the beach bar is brilliant. The vibe of the hotel is like something we've never experienced, the staff seem so happy and are totally lovely and welcoming without exception. The hotel itself is stunning, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the aircon is super efficient! We loved the jacuzzi bath and the huge shower. The privacy box for room service was brilliant, every hotel needs one of those!!! And we loved the privacy light, no-one will disturb you when it's on. The hotel is spotlessly clean, tidy and dry, the ground staff work constantly to keep it beautiful, I've never seen so many squeegee mops being used (it rained a lot!) There are lots of walkways so you can stay dry in those tropical rain showers. The food.....WOW. Our favourite restaurant was Seaside, but it was all fabulous. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, and we loved our morning coffee and cinnamon rolls from the 24/7 coffee shop. Driving away from the hotel on our last day was so sad, it was a week ago today and I'm still missing everything so much, especially the 9am Mimosas served poolside and the afternoon ice cream, also served poolside! We felt so spoiled and pampered. Between us we've travelled a fair bit and have stayed in some nice places, but this resort blew us away. The only problem with staying at Secrets Akumal is that the holiday bar has now been set so high we don't want to go anywhere else!!
