Location is perfect for the beach, close to 5th ave for shopping. There’s something really special about this resort, it’s so upbeat and full of life. You’ll never run out of activities, the animación staff have something planned all the time! The people who work here treat you like family, we never not once felt unsafe, our daughter was able to run around the resort and she had workers that knew us, check in on her :) while we were here we celebrated our anniversary then our daughters birthday and both events, the staff went out of their way to make it special for us! Our anniversary dinner was at cosmopolitan, Elio and Rafael have top notch service, the steak was delicious. We ate at hacienda don Diego a number of times (including our daughter’s birthday) and Carlos and Rene are absolute gems. Carlos went out of his way to talk to my daughter and make it a very special dinner every time! This restaurant is our favourite because the staff here are so welcoming and they are always busy but we never felt like we were left waiting! The buffet had so many delicious choices, always find something to eat :) Yasmine at club viva is so amazing!! She truly made our trip so special. Julian at the rooftop makes the best drinks and he’s always going out of his way to make sure you got everything you need (without leaving the pool)! We will return next year! I can truly say that the viva vibe is an actual vibe 💕 our daughter cannot wait to bring more little turtles and ducks, we brought about 150 little animals and the goal was to hide them all around the resort for other kids to find but our daughter started giving them to resort staff instead because everyone cherished it. Thank you again!

This was our second time staying at Viva Maya Wyndham in Playacar (we were here last April as well), and once again, the atmosphere did not disappoint. There’s something really special about the energy at this resort—it’s warm, welcoming, and genuinely feels like a place you want to return to. Are the rooms perfect? Not quite. They could definitely use some updating, and there’s a bit of a musty smell. But honestly, we spent so little time in the room that it didn’t take away from our experience at all. The beach is absolutely stunning, and the restaurants and buffet were consistently very good. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff—they are the heart of this resort. A special mention to Jesus from the spa—we didn’t even book a service, but he was so kind at every interaction and even recognized us from our last visit. Jesus from the lobby/concierge also remembered us from April and welcomed us back so warmly—it really meant a lot. And the shining star of our trip: Antonio. From the moment we arrived at the beach and pool each day, he made sure everyone around him felt taken care of and never had an empty cup. He remembered us instantly, anticipated what we needed before we even asked, and did it all with such genuine warmth and energy. He remembered everyone’s drink orders and was always checking up on everyone to make sure they had what they needed. By the end of the trip, he felt like family. His work ethic is incredible—constantly moving, always attentive, never missing a detail—yet somehow still making every interaction feel personal. He truly elevates the entire experience and deserves so much recognition. The resort is lucky to have him. The entertainment staff (shout out to Willy!) and daily activities were also fantastic—always something fun going on without being overwhelming. Do we come here for luxury rooms? No. Will we keep coming back because of the people? Absolutely! Thank you, Viva Maya team—we’ll be back!
