As a loyal Voyage Privé customer for over 10 years, I am extremely disappointed with how our recent stay at the Azul Beach Resort Montenegro (July 2026) was handled. We were staying on the 3rd floor with two young children (including a baby in a stroller). The elevator in our building was not only frequently out of order, but it also suffered from serious malfunctions. The most severe incident occurred when the cabin suddenly dropped before getting stuck between two floors with my wife and baby inside. To make matters worse, the emergency call button inside the cabin was completely broken, making it impossible to call for help from the inside. Faced with this major safety failure and our immediate request for a room change (made to both the Voyage Privé emergency line and their local representative), we received no concrete assistance or alternative accommodation. The hotel refused to provide us with the incident report (shifting the blame to the travel agency), and Voyage Privé's customer service handled this serious safety issue with generic, automated responses. They demanded absurd documentation just to buy time, without ever taking responsibility as the tour organizer. When everything goes well, Voyage Privé offers great trips. But in the event of a safety emergency or a serious infrastructure failure at one of their partner hotels, there is absolutely no one to seriously assist you.
Everything was great! The service was very good and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and there was a great variety of different options. Overall we had a really nice experience and would definitely recommend this place!
Azul Hotel truly provided us with a wonderful experience! The hotel is comfortable, clean, and has a peaceful atmosphere. The views are absolutely beautiful, and the beach is clean and lovely, making it perfect for relaxing and enjoying a holiday. The staff are friendly, helpful, and provide excellent service, which made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. Overall, everything was very satisfying, from the cleanliness and service to the relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommended! We would love to come back to Azul Hotel again. 💙✨
Very good food the staff very friendly the resort is very clean everything was perfect 10/10
Disappointing – Definitely Not a 4-Star Experience First, the positives. The staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean. Unfortunately, that is about as far as the positives go. The biggest issue for us is the location. The hotel is extremely isolated and situated so far south that travelling to other parts of Montenegro involves long journeys, made worse by the traffic, and taxis are incredibly expensive. We took a taxi into Ulcinj, which is the nearest town. It was okay, but nothing particularly special and certainly not somewhere we felt the need to visit a second time. We also wanted to visit Kotor for the day. The return taxi journey cost us €250. Kotor itself was lovely and the cable cars were definitely worth visiting, but having spent €250 simply getting there and back, we cannot realistically justify spending the same amount every time we want a day away from the hotel. The isolated location therefore becomes a real problem, particularly when there is so little to do at the hotel itself. Our original room was another major disappointment. It was tiny, very dated and desperately in need of renovation. We managed one night before deciding we could not stay in it for the duration of the holiday. We therefore paid an additional €500 to upgrade to a premium room. The premium room was definitely worth the upgrade and considerably better, but it was yet another substantial expense on top of an already expensive holiday. The food has probably been the biggest disappointment. Other than the Mexican pool bar, which you can only access if you have paid for premium, I would not recommend eating anywhere else in the hotel. The main restaurant looks pleasant enough, but unfortunately the food is awful. We tried breakfast twice and both experiences were so poor that we have not returned since. We decided to give the restaurant another chance for an evening meal, but again the food was awful. We ended up leaving and have not eaten there since. As for other amenities, there really are very few. There is no doctor on site. When we required medical treatment, we had to take a taxi to the hospital. The so-called arcade had just one working machine when we visited. The onsite shop has very little choice and what it does stock is ridiculously expensive – €5 for a tube of Pringles gives you some idea of the prices. We did not attend the evening entertainment, so I cannot fairly comment on that. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience. The combination of the isolated location, expensive transport, poor standard of the original room, additional cost of upgrading, poor food and lack of amenities means we would never return. In our experience, this is certainly not a 4-star hotel. I would rate it as 3-star at best. If you are considering staying here, I would strongly recommend factoring in the cost of a premium room and potentially significant taxi fares if you actually want to see other parts of Montenegro.
