Amazing ! Staff were attentive, the restaurant was amazing. We ate somewhere else and we were gutted as it was no where near as nice. Booked sunbeds for the four days on reception. Beautiful walks, go to the end of the pier/ruin and up some stairs which lead to trail above beach and through tunnels in the mountain. Opposite way go past the football ground and towards Luice beach and lovely walk and bars that way.

The hotel is classical, clean, and perfectly situated on the sea in Petrovac, an ancient Roman town with ruins and street names from nearly 2000 years ago. The breakfast ordered on menu, not from the hotel guest buffet, was the best I had yet in Montenegro. Fluffy fresh eggs on rustic homemade bread topped with sun-dried tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil. With a Deutsch and two homemade Rakija I enjoyed while sitting seaside on a warm Spring morning in May, it was heaven on the Earth. The hotel is fairly priced for in-season luxury at $110 per night for a sea view room, and my breakfast with two Rakija and a Deutsch (Montenegrin for a cappuccino) cost under €20 plus €2 for a tip to the local waiter who gave perfect, professional service

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Riva in Petrovac. The hotel is beautiful, and the cleanliness is absolutely spotless. All the staff were kind, helpful, and always made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and of very high quality. We tried many different dishes, and even though Petrovac offers plenty of restaurants, we always came back for dinner at the hotel – it was simply that good (hotel guests also receive 10% off meals). Breakfast had everything you could wish for, including freshly made omelets prepared to your liking. Sunbeds on the beach need to be reserved a day in advance, with a cost of €15 (50% off for hotel guests). They are kept reserved until noon, which is very convenient. The only downside is that the beach itself can get very crowded – for this reason, September is probably the best time to visit Petrovac. This is truly a boutique hotel where you feel like a valued guest and not just a number. The owner, Peter, often came to chat with us, which made us feel appreciated. On the beach, we enjoyed fruit and drinks several times, with attentive service from the staff. If you are planning a visit to Petrovac, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Riva – it made our holiday truly memorable.
