Hanza Hotel

Great hotel in a fantastic waterfront location in the old town .We were upgraded to a riverfront view in the third floor .Free bottled water replaced daily , tea,coffee and a reasonably priced and stocked minibar .Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels also . Breakfast was buffet style and catered for many different tastes, so there was something for everyone .Only slight gripe was the shower over the bath , instead of separate shower cubicle but it was functional and sufficient.Overall a good experience in a great city and would definitely return here if we visit again .

The good: great location, friendly and helpful front desk/reception. Comfortable bed. Generous breakfast. The bad: shower had a strong and unpleasant odor when water was on. The wait staff at breakfast was unprofessional - two women specifically (one with black hair and the other brown hair, glasses and tattoo on upper arm) were chatting and laughing, as if they were guests themselves. They were laughing at me when I spilled some cereal into the floor. One of them even made herself a cappuccino while guests were waiting Then disappeared into the staff room, followed immediately by the other.

Excellent hotel right off the river. Nearly all the major attractions in Gdansk are in walking distance. We had a room with a view of the river. Glad it had heavy drapes - because sunrise was at 4:20 AM! Great breakfast buffet with immense variety. Wonderful seafood restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Windows were thick enough to shut out noise from outside. Very helpful front desk on how to get places. Reasonably priced.

Absolutely brilliant stay in this very nice and comfy hotel. Great location on river near the Crane. Directly across form the Soldek and Maritime Museum. Perfect for sightseeing - 5 minutes to Mariacka and also good for people with mobility issues as it's mainly all flat. Lovely large room with river view and big windows. Very comfy, clean and quiet. tea and coffee maker and bottles of water replenished every day. Aircon in room even though we didn't need it Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff - couldn't do enough for us. Very many excellent choices for breakfast including Freixenet and 0% Freixenet !! A first for me in a hotel for breakfast! Great to make your own Bucks Fizz to start the holiday days off! 2 restaurant areas - one with view of river and a outside eating/drinking area - all very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Waiting staff were amazing throughout. Wifi is a bit iffy but the hotel provide individual signal boosters for guests - so just ask at reception!! It seemed wifi wasn't brilliant in a lot of places in Gdansk? On arrival we were each given vouchers for the spa and a free dessert. Free map and guidebook also Added bonus is that because of it's position taxis can take you straight to the door which hasn't been the case in other hotels in the Old Town I ''ve stayed in I would highly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again
