Antillia Hotel

We had a lovely roomy suite, with mini kitchen and dining area. Everything was immaculately clean, all the linen and towels were good quality. The beds were extremely comfortable. A large balcony looked out onto a little garden. We were on a bed and breakfast basis, unfortunately the breakfast offerings were a little hit and miss as not everything was available a lot of the time. This hotel was a bit off the beaten track for us and the surrounding area appears a little run down, but there is some renovation going on. There were no shops, bars etc in the vicinity (that we could find) so self catering would be difficult. You would have to rely on a delivery service for goods. The hotel has no restaurant, but the bar does do snacks. We had a burger and a Caesar salad which was lovely but the chips advertised were crisps. The bar area and pool was pleasant and the staff lovely. There is a covered walkway to the hotel with cobbles, difficult to drag your case over, but some cab drivers took you into the hotel entrance via a side alley!! We wouldn't stay there again,just because of the location and mobility issues.

Let’s face it when it comes to hotels the only thing that matters is a comfortable bed. This one was not comfortable. It felt like you were sleeping on box springs without a mattress. The only thing that could be said for.the beds is they were off the floor. The room itself reminded me of a college dorm..functional but not comfortable. The layout was slightly weird requiring two elevators with a long hall in between understandable for the crowded city space but inconvenient if you are a senior lady carrying luggage. The rooms were clean but did show some wear.

This hotel is definitely not 4 star, 2 maybe 3. The staff are very unpleasant and dismissive the first impression of hotel is neglect, garbage can in parking area overflowing, the glass windows are dirty everywhere, the elevator doors are dirty. The rooms are dated, they did upgrade us and put us in a large apartment style room which is spacious but from the ‚80‘s the bathroom is cramped and lacking extras, no outlets no storage. The biggest is charging 14.00 euros per person for breakfast that is the most underwhelming and overpriced breakfast, the staff barely made eye contact! All in all there are many faults so in general do NOT book

STAY ELSEWHERE!! Unfriendly staff literally rolled his eyes when I asked where the restaurant was. Ridiculous layout. There is a surcharge for everything. Rock hard beds and pillows make rest impossible. I don understand how they dare rate themselves 4 stars.
