Grand Hotel Açores Atlantico

This is the third trip to Azores and this hotel. Everyone at this property is so attentive to your needs and extremely cordial. The service level is outstanding. The valets, reception, lobby bar, 2nd floor restaurant for breakfast and dinner go out of your way to make you comfortable and never say no to any request. The food was the best in the island in my opinion and that is saying a lot. The room was spacious and quiet. Although we have always had thought of staying somewhere else in the island, due to our experience, there is no reason to go elsewhere.

24th Feb - 4th Mar, 8 night stay at the Grand, our first visit of 7 previous visits to beautiful Sao Miguel and first in Punta Delgada. Traditional 5* hotel harbour/marina side in Central location. 140 room hotel with full facilities some temporarily out of use for low season maintenance and improvement. Didn't detract our visit in any way. Arrival at early evening and greeted by Hugo the duty, friendly doorman. Check in was simple and easy by efficient receptionist Catia. Allocated room 513 with balcony overlooking the harbour and marina on 5th floor. Beautiful room with lovely ensuite toilet and shower facilities. Nicely fitted out with comfortable bed, in room storage, TV and WiFi. Hugo obliged and took suitcases to room and explained operation etc. Low season so only 23% hotel occupancy. We were B&B but still used the Balcony restaurant and Vapore Bar and alternative dining facility. We also dined out extensively in the town at both new and old facilities. The staff at the hotel under direction of General Manager Jorge Xavier were fabulous. Friendly, helpful and professional at all times. Clearly we benefitted with low season prices but service and experience were not compromised in any way. Will we return? For sure of course! Highly recommended.

From start to finish, this hotel delivered an exceptional experience during our six-night stay. The location is unbeatable—right on the water and within walking distance of countless cafés, restaurants, shops, and bars. We always felt completely safe walking back to the hotel, even at night. The property itself is stunning. Our room featured a balcony facing the city, yet we still enjoyed beautiful water views. The twin beds were incredibly comfortable, and the thoughtful touches truly set this hotel apart. We received welcome amenities twice—a chocolate plate and a fruit basket—and each day included a complimentary liter of water in our room. The “chocolate goodnight” treats during turndown service were such a delightful surprise. Even the valet went above and beyond by placing bottles of water in our car every morning. Breakfast was outstanding, offering an impressive variety including fresh omelets, fruit, bread, yogurt, coffee, and even mimosas. The bar deserves special mention—the espresso martini was the best I’ve ever had, and the cocktails were both creative and beautifully presented. This may genuinely be the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and made us feel incredibly welcome. If you’re traveling to Ponta Delgada, don’t hesitate—this hotel is absolutely worth it.

Stunning hotel with friendly staff and great facilities. Definitely recommend a sea view room . The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Loved the welcome treat in the room , delicious sweets! The location is great and the staff park the car for you and place a bottle of water inside the car each day , attention to details which make your stay very pleasant.

Excellent experience staying in the hotel. The staff and service were fantastic. The staff will check up in the evening with chocolates to see if you need anything before they leave for the night. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well. Excellent location as restaurants are within walking distance. Highly recommended.
