Pedras do Mar is, without question, the finest hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive. The hotel itself is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and exudes a sense of tranquility. Our ocean-view room offered a truly breathtaking panorama, and waking each morning to the soothing sound of the waves was an experience beyond words. An unforgettable stay in every respect. Can't wait to go back.

Great modern comfortable rooms. Very easy parking. Breakfast and breakfast area is really nice with sufficient outdoor area. Pool is very cold though and sun protection is terrible (falling a part) at the pool. If you can't handle the sun, it is impossible to sit at the pool area. The bar cocktails are great. Restaurant has a fantastic view but the reviews were so bad that we did not even try.

From the moment we arrived, the warmth of the staff enveloped us, their kindness and attentiveness turning every interaction into a pleasure. Our room, a haven of comfort, opened onto a balcony where we could sip morning coffee while listening to birdsong and watching the mist roll over the distant mountains. The hot water and excellent shower pressure were small but appreciated luxuries, adding to the overall sense of relaxation. Housekeeping was discreet and efficient, ensuring everything remained spotless, with high-quality towels and plush bathrobes that added a touch of indulgence. Breakfast was a feast of flavors, a generous spread that fueled our explorations of São Miguel. After long days of discovery, the heated indoor pool, sauna, and gym provided the perfect respite, while the outdoor infinity pool stretched toward the horizon, inviting us to lose ourselves in its embrace. The restaurant, Meia Nau, delighted us with its Azorean specialties, each dish a testament to the island’s rich culinary heritage. Of course, perfection is an elusive dream. The exterior of the hotel, with its unkempt landscaping and palm trees that seemed to have given up on life, stood in contrast to the elegance within. The sun loungers, scattered as if abandoned by their former occupants, added a touch of unintended humor. Perhaps they, too, had surrendered to the hypnotic call of the ocean. And then there was the hotel’s name, partially dimmed by burnt-out lights, as if it, too, had decided to embrace a more mysterious identity. Yet, none of this mattered when standing on the cliffside, gazing at the endless blue, feeling the salty breeze whispering secrets of the deep. Pedras do Mar is not just a place to stay; it is a place to feel, to breathe, to remember. A retreat where nature and comfort intertwine, leaving behind memories as vast as the ocean itself. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and its breathtaking location.

I had the opportunity to spend a weekend at Hotel Pedras do Mar in São Miguel, and the experience was truly positive. The location is very peaceful, ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat, with a stunning ocean view from the room. The hotel features a heated indoor pool, perfect for relaxing, no matter the weather outside. A special mention goes to the staff, who were very attentive and always available to ensure a pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a calm and comfortable place to relax, with an amazing view.

We had a sea view room on the second floor. A good sized room with a balcony (small table and two chairs) which was perfect for us. This is a big property right on the water but swimming is ln the large outdoor pool between the resort and the sea. The shoreline is rocky and there were waves pounding in for all three days we were there. Excellent and well appointed facility with a good restaurant, bar and fitness areas.
