Pedras do Mar Resort & Spa

We stayed here for four nights as 2 couples (with two rooms). What a beautiful hotel! The staff, especially Diego, were helpful and accommodating. We had an ocean view (which is really ocean front) room and we’re able to watch the sunset every night as well as look at the stars over the ocean later in the evening. We would enjoy our coffee listening to the waves every morning and spent some time enjoying a bottle of port on the terrace. The breakfast buffet in the morning was included and was very good. The hotel is far from Ponte Delgado so you either need a car or arrange taxis. We took taxis and arranged tours for the days we were on Sao Miguel because no one wanted to drive. If you’re looking for relaxation and nice views and don’t mind a longer drive to get to more populated areas, this is a great hotel to stay in.

We stayed here as a family of nine, spread across four rooms, for 5 nights. Overall everything was great and we would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is extremely clean… staff are constantly out keeping the common areas tidy. It’s about a 20-l minute drive from the city center, and there’s really nothing within walking distance, so you’ll definitely want to have a car. Everyone on staff was super friendly and helpful the whole time. Breakfast was included with our stay and the spread was solid. It was the same setup every morning, though, so by day five it did get a little repetitive. Still, it was a nice way to start the day. A few small things worth knowing, nothing major: No iron in the rooms, but you can borrow one from the front desk and just return it when you’re done (they only have a few to share among guests). No ice machines on the floors… head down to the bar and they’ll happily sort you out. No wine openers in the rooms either, but if you bring up a bottle, the bar downstairs will open it for you free of charge, no problem at all. The restaurant on prem had really good food and drinks

We spent 7 nights at this hotel and very much enjoyed it. The address says Ponta Delgada but it’s actually about 20 minutes from downtown. We preferred the quiet location. The hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There is a little coastal hiking trail behind the hotel with natural baths. Parking was ample. Hotel staff were friendly. We stayed in a suite which was perfect for 7 days. It had a kitchenette so we could store leftovers, etc. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The room was very quiet & beds really comfy. All we could hear was the ocean and wind, which was soothing. The food in our opinion was just okay. Would recommend if you’re looking to be a little off the beaten path.

Pedras do Mar is, without question, the finest hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive. The hotel itself is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and exudes a sense of tranquility. Our ocean-view room offered a truly breathtaking panorama, and waking each morning to the soothing sound of the waves was an experience beyond words. An unforgettable stay in every respect. Can't wait to go back.

Great modern comfortable rooms. Very easy parking. Breakfast and breakfast area is really nice with sufficient outdoor area. Pool is very cold though and sun protection is terrible (falling a part) at the pool. If you can't handle the sun, it is impossible to sit at the pool area. The bar cocktails are great. Restaurant has a fantastic view but the reviews were so bad that we did not even try.
