Sensi Azores, Nature and Spa

The team at Sensi has offered us a unique and highly personalized experience on Sao Miguel, Azores. The hotel is an island of tranquility which sparkles with friendliness and heartfelt hospitality. Already before our arrival the team helped us to arrange some wonderful experiences on the island, and - even though we arrived somewhat late - offered us a dinner reservation in the wonderful Momo restaurant. The food was superb with a wonderful local touch. Initially, we thought we would have once or twice dinner at the Momo restaurant during our 9 day stay. As the food was really great and - more importantly - all of the staff offered such a personal, friendly, and attentive service that we ended up having dinner in the Momo restaurant on 7 of 9 evenings. At one of the other two evenings we ate something small in the bar, and the staff from the restaurant came by to ask how our day was and just wanted to say hello as they had not seen us on the day. We were touched by such friendliness and personal relationship. We also enjoyed massages in the small but beautiful spa, which definitely helped to relax and enjoy our time at Sensi. This is a truly fantastic place and we really do want to come again!

I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Sensi Azores Nature and Spa. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, boutique experience, then look no further. The grounds are stunning, the spa is incrdible, the rooms are immaculate and beautiful and the staff is OUTSTANDING! Breakfast is included, which is an added plus! I would definitley go back!!!! I loved the beautiful walk to town and had an opportunity to explore the island with a driver recommended by the staff. I don't recommend it for families with young children because it's more of a "boutique" location perfect for couples and friends.

We loved our stay in the Villa at Sensi! The staff was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We had a 40th Anniversary dinner one evening, and it was absolutely fantastic! Exactly the kind of vibe we were looking for. HUGE THANK YOU...to whomever took care of our Villa at checkout. Your honesty, integrity and respect are greatly appreciated. My diamond earrings arrived safely back to me in GA today. Words could never express how thankful I am that these were found, and returned to me.

The hotel website and pictures, led us to believe it is a luxury hi end hotel. In reality , it’s not even coming close. The room got filled with flies, every day after the cleaners did their job . The tv, had no sound ,and it is a very small size old tv. It is not a smart tv , and no way to connect to smart phone . Or use Netflix…, No large screen tv in any other communal space. No gym what so ever , not even a dedicated space large enough to even do any yoga or stretching. The sauna was broken for all our 4 days stay . The outdoor pool is freezing . The inside pool is very small, don’t be fooled by the pictures…. Only 4 lounges next to the pool .,,,, They are understaffed, so service in breakfast and dinner is slow and the guests have to wait forever for the order. All this comes in a very high price , double than the best hotels in Porto. Very poor ratio between what you pay and what you get. Sad One of the only bad experiences we had in a 4 weeks stay in Portugal .

Our stay was at best mediocre. Other than burgers at the bar (with such low seats it’s impossible to eat comfortably) the food was overall very disappointing. Breakfast was the worst on the island with hard bread and underseasoned eggs and truly unbelievably bad coffee. We experienced a steady stream of bugs in to our room even with doors and windows closed (unfortunately) and felt isolated so far away from other dining options and tourist sites, particularly for the extremely high prices out of proportion to the rest of the island. Far and away, however, the worst part was coming home to find that Sensi Spa charged us ON A SEPARATE CARD for ANOTHER room WHILE WE WERE CHECKED IN FOR OUR RESERVATION and deemed us a “no show” for that other fraudulent reservation. They have not responded or accepted any responsibility for the unbelievable theft they’ve committed, and we are fighting this with our credit card company. BEWARE.
