VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort

I expected much more from this resort based on its reputation. The room was not too bad, and the beach was decent, but the overall experience was negatively affected by the service. The staff was the biggest problem. They were not helpful and, in several situations, seemed more interested in avoiding responsibility than helping guests. We also had an issue with towels being taken, and when we tried to get help, the staff did not seem interested in resolving the problem. This was extremely frustrating and made us feel like our concerns were simply ignored. A resort can have a nice beach and acceptable rooms, but good customer service is essential, especially when guests have a problem. Unfortunately, that was missing during our stay. I really expected a much better experience from Gran Ventana, and based on my stay, I would not choose this resort again.

Just came back from an amazing week here. This resort definitely ticked all the boxes for us. We had booked the Premium package, which we highly recommend. We arrived at 1:00 and our room was ready! There is a separate check in, the Vintage Lounge. This lounge is comfortable, has snacks and drinks and a cool Calypso vibe to it. Santa is an amazing person, and she definitely added to our wonderful vacation. Food was good, the ala carte restaurants were very well done. This is a compact, quiet resort with not a whole lot of evening entertainment, so if you're looking for a party place, this is not it. The pool can get crowded, but there is another quiet pool a short distance away. The beach is great. Very calm in the morning, but the wind can really pick up around noon. A few days it was quite bad, to the point we left the beach early. Again, having the Premium package meant we had a separate section of the beach, with excellent service. We have been to the Caribbean over 30 times, and this resort is in the top 3 for us and as long as Cuba is off the table, VH Gran Ventana will be our go to place.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and had the most amazing experience! The entertainment staff was beyond amazing- Marleni, Lorenzo, Gerard, Josue, and Mario were absolutely amazing and made our experience unforgettable. The dining staff and the rest of the staff were also very delightful.

Nice small resort, rooms are dated but nice and well maintained. Very clean overall. Staff is excellent! Very courteous and friendly. Pool is somewhat small for the number of guests in the hotel. Beach is nice, very windy though. Is a good value overall. One complaint is the check-in process.. we arrived at 3pm and we ended up having our key cards at 4.30pm, this is a major inefficiency. Again, not a luxury hotel, but nice to spend some relaxing time. Oh, night entertainment is completely underwhelming.

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The beach was incredible and excellent for walking. We found the food very good, all three restaurants were delicious. The staff are all very kind and professional, always helpful. Our room was spotless. The only downfall is there is not enough furniture in the room to put our luggage and if there was an actual coffee bar in the mornings prior to breakfast . There were coffee machines which we did appreciated. We would return for sure.
