VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort

An Honest Review from Someone Who Can’t Afford to Travel Often I really loved this hotel! The resort isn’t too big, which makes it really nice and convenient to walk between the buffet, the beach, your room, and the pool without having to go too far. The staff was a mix of friendly and laid-back, but honestly, it didn’t bother me personally. The beach was super clean, with plenty of lounge chairs and a few umbrellas. The pool was great too, with LOTS of lounge chairs and umbrellas. The room was perfectly fine! I had seen reviews from people saying it looked “old,” but honestly, I don’t really care about that. It was clean and comfortable, and that’s what matters to me. The buffet has a decent variety of food. It’s not endless, and the options can get a little repetitive from one night to the next, but the food was really good, and everything was always well stocked. The Italian à la carte restaurant was really good and cute, and Octopus was delicious too! I didn’t get a chance to try Ocean Grill, but from what I heard, it was really good as well. This is NOT a party resort. There are a few shows, but nothing too crazy. So, if you’re looking to party, I don’t think this is the place for you. The pool area is pretty quiet, with some music and entertainment, but there are also ping-pong, pool, and foosball tables, which are fun when you’re bored. My favorite bar was definitely the lobby bar! Honestly, I would recommend this resort if: * You’re not there to party. * You don’t mind not having themed buffet nights. * You’re just looking to relax and enjoy the sunshine. * You don’t care too much about how fancy or modern your room looks, as long as it’s clean and comfortable. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay! It’s a great option if you want a relaxing vacation without needing a huge, fancy resort with tons of activities. Sometimes, you just want to enjoy the beach, eat good food, relax by the pool, and get your money’s worth!

Contaminated beach possibly from city sewage. I don’t see these type of green algae normally, only in water waste polluted waters. More investigation needs to take place before making conclusion and steps of mitigation of waste water entering vicinity of the beach or beach itself. 5 years ago I did not see this and water was crystal clear with no green algae growth.

Just to say thank you Osca Lora for another fantastic holiday that me & my wife had at the Gran Ventana on our 50th Aniversiry from the 16th September 2026 til the 30th September 2026. To you Oscar the Perfect Gentleman and Food & Beverage manager Sension all your management team and all the rest of your staff from maintenance /maids/ bar staff/restaurant staff and every one under your control the service and hospitalty we recived from them all made it a excellent holiday the we will nerver forget. Basic things are missing : 1) Some handkerchiefs in the room ; 2) more place where to store your clothes ; 3) Small tables by the beach to put your drinks on ; 4) being on time while opening the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner… Cups and glasses are still not on many tables while the supervisor only minds his smartphone instead of working, even while there is only 40% of occupation rate. Half of your meal is finished before they ask for any other drink than water. Unacceptable while paying toooo much for small service. If it’s possible in all other hotels, then why not here ??? I don’t recommend this place, while having much better options nearby.

I expected much more from this resort based on its reputation. The room was not too bad, and the beach was decent, but the overall experience was negatively affected by the service. The staff was the biggest problem. They were not helpful and, in several situations, seemed more interested in avoiding responsibility than helping guests. We also had an issue with towels being taken, and when we tried to get help, the staff did not seem interested in resolving the problem. This was extremely frustrating and made us feel like our concerns were simply ignored. A resort can have a nice beach and acceptable rooms, but good customer service is essential, especially when guests have a problem. Unfortunately, that was missing during our stay. I really expected a much better experience from Gran Ventana, and based on my stay, I would not choose this resort again.
