Catalonia Royal Bavaro

I cannot express in words my love of this place. It was our first time there, and my wife and I were blown away. From arrival to departure, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful. Yes it was sargassum season. But the tractor and the crew were out twice a day to clean it up. They did everything in their power to keep their beautiful beach just that. Restaurants - unbelievably good Bars - awesome Housekeeping - above and beyond. (A note left once with our preferences and they were met each and every day) Always clean, always tidy, always friendly. I honestly can't express in words how happy we were with our experience. Guys, we will be back as soon as we can. Thank you to everyone for the best holiday we've had in a long time

Modernize the hotel rooms and complete all the undone construction work such as upgrading the water systems to make sure the hot water is properly maintained, get rid of the cats and dogs and train Bloved employees that worked the evening of May 25th on how to treat all guests the same (not giving the Caucasian people all the attention and ghosting the African American people including myself). Overall, I enjoyed some of the entertainment (Beach Bar, May 21st), Beach Bar attendants and adult drinks, clean bathroom near the Beach Bar, outside showers and Ashley (attendant at the Snack Bar. She was friendly, pleasant and fixed a delicious Banana Mama). I’m highly disappointed and dissatisfied with my stay at Catalonia Royal Bavaro Beach Resorts & Hotels due to the conditions of my room-inoperable toilet a few times, hearing running water, seeing water leaks behind the toilet, refrigerator temperature was not cold-beverages were lightly cool.

Bartenders at pool bar and the plaza were great, friendly, always smiling, other staff members were grim, couldn’t get a smile from most of them. No American alcohol, Tito’s/Grey Goose vodka/ Captain Morgan spiced rum/Jack fire or Fireball whisky ,in the bars, after much complaining we did get a bottle of Smirnoff vodka delivered to the room, not what I drink at home, better than whatever they tried to give me. Food was poor, we did like the steakhouse. We did enjoy the pool and pool bartenders on the adult side.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Mrs. Ana Alexis welcomed us at the front desk with professionalism and warmth, making us feel at home. In the buffet area, Mrs. Leydi De la Cruz was equally kind, professional, and always eager to help. While all employees treated us exceptionally well, we would especially like to recognize these two individuals. The themed restaurant menus are somewhat limited, but the food quality is excellent. More variety would be appreciated. The rooms are very comfortable, and the peaceful atmosphere makes this an ideal place to rest and relax.

There are some good things. But overall not a good stay. If you don’t speak Spanish don’t go. Most of them don’t. They assume you do and ignore you if you don’t. They don’t seem to know where their own restaurants are and give mixed direction in poor English but speak too fast to be understood. Food is quite bad. Room service didn’t show up. Feral dogs & cats. This is the high end side. Family side is very noisy. Liquor bar in room has 2 beer and a few soft drinks but is warm anyway. I tried to order 6 beer but was told there was a limit - it’s an all in resort? Not a good experience and won’t return. Looking forward to leaving!
