Dreams Dominicus La Romana is an outstanding all-inclusive resort, truly deserving of its five-star rating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From the breathtaking beach and beautifully maintained grounds to the exceptional food, peaceful atmosphere, and welcoming staff, everything came together to make this a memorable Caribbean vacation. Located approximately an hour's drive from Punta Cana International Airport, we found the journey well worth it. The Check-In Check-in was quick and straightforward, although there was a slight language barrier. We weren't given a formal introduction or tour of the resort, but that's what QR codes are for! After settling in and exploring a little, we quickly understood why an introduction wasn't particularly necessary. The resort is refreshingly easy to navigate. The Resort 🌺 One of the things we appreciated most was the resort's simple, well-thought-out layout. Imagine a straight pathway running from the main lobby all the way to the beach, with guest rooms, restaurants, gift shops, and other amenities conveniently positioned on either side. No confusing pathways, no unnecessary detours. After your first stroll down the middle, you pretty much know where everything is! That said, depending on your mobility and room location, the walk can be a little long. The Preferred Club section is farther away, and if you're staying in Block 53, as we were, expect approximately a five- to seven-minute walk to certain areas. The good news? Shuttle carts circulate frequently throughout the property. Simply hop on, and you'll be at World Café or the beach in no time! The Room 🛏️ Our room had a slightly musty smell, which we suspected was due to limited natural sunlight. Our balcony faced the road across from the Preferred Club section, so the room didn't receive much direct sunshine. The bathroom was fairly standard but perfectly functional. Everything worked as it should, with no plumbing or maintenance issues. Housekeeping, however, deserves special recognition. They did a fantastic job! Our minibar was replenished daily, and fresh towels and linens were provided consistently. Since we spent very little time in the room, it wasn't a major concern. What mattered most was returning each day to a clean, comfortable, and well-stocked space, and housekeeping certainly delivered. The Beach 🏖️ Absolutely phenomenal! The beach was easily one of the highlights of our vacation. Picture beautiful, calm, crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft sand, and a peaceful Caribbean atmosphere. For most of our stay, the water was wonderfully calm, with only a day or two of slightly choppier conditions. We were also fortunate to experience virtually no sargassum. On one particular day, a small amount washed ashore, but it was promptly cleaned up and completely gone by the following morning. Beach loungers were readily available throughout our stay, so there was never a need to rush out early to reserve a spot. For anyone who enjoys long, leisurely days by the ocean, this beach is simply spectacular, offering a peaceful, uninterrupted experience without the constant approaches or sales pitches from local beach vendors. The Pools 💦 There are several pools scattered throughout the property, each offering a slightly different atmosphere. The main pool, complete with a swim-up bar, tends to attract families and guests looking for a livelier experience. There are also pools in the Preferred Club section and a dedicated children's pool. Our favourite feature, however, was the long, beautifully designed quiet pool, which stretches through much of the resort, with a jacuzzi conveniently positioned near the middle. And yes, it truly lives up to its name! This is where you go to unwind, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and escape the noise. No loud music, no constant activity, just relaxation. A gentle reminder to fellow guests: it's called the quiet pool for a reason! 😊 The Food 🍽️ Exceptional! And surprisingly, our favourite dining experience wasn't at one of the specialty restaurants. It was at World Café, the resort's main buffet. The selection was impressive, with plenty of variety, fresh ingredients, and healthier options. We loved being able to put together balanced, satisfying meals without feeling overly full afterward. The Barefoot Grill was another favourite for a quick, casual bite while enjoying the beach. Nothing fancy, just convenient, tasty food in a relaxed setting. As for the à la carte restaurants, we found them pleasant but not particularly exceptional. In fact, on more than one occasion, we found ourselves heading back to World Café afterward! And then there's Coco Café. What a wonderful concept! Open 24 hours, it became one of our favourite places to unwind. Whether it was an early-morning coffee, an afternoon cappuccino, a late-night espresso, or a relaxing cup of tea, Coco Café was always there. Add a selection of simple sandwiches, pastries, and desserts, and you have the perfect little retreat at any hour. There's something special about being able to sit quietly with a good cup of coffee, with absolutely nowhere you need to be. Pure relaxation! The Staff & Service ❤️ Most of the staff and guests we encountered were Spanish-speaking, which occasionally created a language barrier. However, this did not take away from the warmth and hospitality we experienced. We met several wonderful team members who genuinely made us feel welcome and added a personal touch to our vacation. A very special shout-out to Ada! Ada was exceptionally professional, friendly, attentive, and helpful. She consistently went above and beyond, and her genuine kindness made a lasting impression on us. We would also like to recognize Pedro at World Café, along with the many other hardworking team members whose hospitality helped make our stay so enjoyable. It's often the people you meet who turn a good vacation into a memorable one, and these individuals certainly did that for us. Entertainment 🎭 If you're looking for a resort with a little entertainment and family-friendly energy, but without the constant party atmosphere, Dreams Dominicus strikes a wonderful balance. There are nightly shows, including performances such as a circus show, offering something fun to enjoy after dinner. The nightclub was limited, with a pool table and two foosball tables. We visited once, took a look around, and didn't feel the need to return. But that's perfectly fine with us. We'd choose the beach over a nightclub any day! What we appreciated most was that the resort never felt overwhelmingly noisy or chaotic. There was enough activity to keep things interesting, but the overall atmosphere remained peaceful and relaxing. This is not a loud, nonstop party resort, and for us, that was a major plus! Our Final Thoughts 🌴❤️ Dreams Dominicus La Romana checked all our boxes and, in many ways, exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit, and our goal was simple: to escape the demands of busy work and family life, slow down, and enjoy some much-needed peace and relaxation. Dreams Dominicus delivered exactly that. Between the spectacular turquoise beach, delicious food, beautifully maintained surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, and wonderful people we encountered, it was everything we had hoped for in a Caribbean getaway. Was absolutely everything perfect? No. There were a few minor areas that could be improved, particularly the room's musty smell, occasional language barriers, and the à la carte dining experience. But none of these significantly affected our enjoyment. What stood out most was how easy it was to simply relax and enjoy ourselves. If you're looking for a beautiful Caribbean resort where you can unwind, enjoy excellent food, spend your days on a gorgeous beach, and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we would absolutely recommend Dreams Dominicus La Romana. We celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary at the resort Our experience was more than we expected We had a butler her name was Ada She went out of her way to make our day special The pools were amazing The ocean was a bit rougher We had a amazing time Very memorable
Great food and drinks, excellent service from Juan Guzman our buttler. Very nice beach area with plenty of shade. Snorkeling by the hotel offers plenty of marine life to marvel at. Had the privilege of spotting a sea turtle.
My second time to this resort. The resort - A+. the staff - A+. the beach - A+, the food - A+. Muchos gracias por todo Dreams Dominicus.
wow - what a lovely resort. The beach is immaculate and amazing. The staff were outstanding, this was our 3rd visit to this resort and a lot of staff remembered us from our previous visit. The spa massages made our holiday and would recommend a visit. The resort is very clean and the pools, restaurants were great, especially the Bordeaux (French) . We upgraded to a preferred room with our own pool, which was so convenient to take a little dip in late afternoon in peace .
