Dreams Dominicus La Romana

Despite the beautiful weather, stunning beach, and overall scenery, my experience at Dreams Dominicus La Romana Resort was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, the resort itself completely spoiled what should have been a relaxing family holiday. This was one of the most expensive resorts available through our tour operator, yet we were repeatedly deprived of a basic necessity: running water. During my 7-day stay, the water was cut off without warning on a daily basis, affecting us for several days and nights. As a parent travelling with a baby, this was particularly distressing. I needed water at night to change and clean my child, but there was none. After spending the day at the beach, we would return to our room only to discover that neither my baby nor I could take a shower because the water was not working. This was incredibly frustrating, inconvenient, and completely unacceptable for a resort that charges premium prices. Each time I raised the issue and asked to speak with management, I was told that the problem was related to the resort's water pipes. However, the resort had water tanks available, and it appeared that water service was being prioritised for Preferred Club/VIP guests while other paying guests were left without access to this essential service. Whether this was actually the case or not, the lack of transparency and the repeated outages created that impression. We paid a significant amount of money for a level of service that was simply not delivered. No guest should have to worry about having access to water, especially families travelling with young children. The situation was extremely disturbing and concerning, and it significantly impacted our holiday experience. While the beach and weather were wonderful, I would not return to this resort unless major improvements are made to its infrastructure, guest communication, and commitment to providing basic services to all guests equally.

Amazing! This is our second time at Dreams Dominicus. Our number reason …. The beach. The staff are fantastic super helpful and friendly. Entertainment staff Michael, Jessey, Super Champion, Yalinda are nonstop fun! Restaurants outstanding. Food in French was delicious and our favorite. Security is always around and checks if you’re preferred guests or not. Sony is the best! We were preferred guest again this trip. Unfortunately I didn’t see much of the preferred amenities. Having our butler Eric was fantastic. Preferred restaurant food was good, atmosphere great, beach areas amazing . As a preferred guest, it would be great if preferred can make reservations only. We found it annoying that you couldn’t get reservations at times. It would also be amazing if there were an adult only beach area. As a couple, we love kiddos, but we are vacationing without them for a break. Screaming & crying children isn’t exactly relaxing.

The resort was beautiful with turquoise beaches just steps away from our room! The location was convenient for excursion such as fishing from the port in Bayahibe to buggy rides in the jungle. The staff was friendly and so helpful for all of our needs. The entertainment on site was so fun with a show each night with their amazing team, lead by Domingo. They also offered fun fitness class in the pool each day including cycling, rebounding and dance. We ate at the buffet everyday and visited 2 of the al a carte restaurants, all of the food was amazing! There were so many relaxing places to spend our day. We spent most of our time at the pool near the beach where there was a swim up bar and all of the entertainment was performed. There were several families with children of all ages and plenty of things to do to keep them busy! Our room was comfortable and clean with a private patio. The property was immaculate and easy to get around. I would highly recommend visiting!

An excellent hotel;the rooms were beautiful, clean and fancy, and the food was spectacular with a wide variety. The staff's service was wonderful and made our stay unforgettable-especially Nelson, who took care of us at the beach. The beach was beautiful. Definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed at. 100% recommended.

The rooms are very nice, beautiful beach, very nice property overall. The food has room for improvement in almost all of the restaurants. A lot of them require reservations which need to be made almost a day in advance, we ended up not eating at some of the restaurants due to this. There are vendors selling jewelry on the way to the beach/ pool which can be quite irritating given the amount it costs per night to stay there. It got to the point where we had to find an alternative route to the beach to avoid interacting with the vendors. If you do not speak Spanish, the staff can be rude or dismissive. I have stayed at other all-inclusives in the DR where these issues are not present and would have much rather spent my money there ie Secrets Cap Cana.
