Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa

We had a brilliant holiday at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa and really enjoyed our stay. The resort is lovely, with plenty to do and a great atmosphere. There was always something going on, and the entertainment was really good. The food was generally lovely, with lots of choice. The buffet did get a little repetitive at times, but the à la carte restaurants were fantastic and definitely a highlight. We did have one disappointing meal, but the way it was dealt with was amazing. We mentioned it to the concierge, who couldn’t have been more helpful. They sent champagne to our room as an apology and arranged for us to have the Chef’s Table the following evening. They really went above and beyond to put things right, which says a lot about the level of service at the resort. The staff were honestly one of the best things about our holiday. Everyone was so friendly, attentive and welcoming, and they were particularly brilliant with the children. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and they really made us feel looked after. A special shout out to ‘pork chop’ (probably not his real name) but he went above and beyond for our kids and made them feel so special, he always had a greeting and a kind word to say. We upgraded to Preferred Club halfway through our stay. It was nice to experience the extra benefits, but if we’re honest, we’re not sure it was worth the additional cost and probably wouldn’t bother for the whole stay next time. It works out at $50 dollars per adult per day, which is steep for what you get. All in all, we had a fantastic time and made some lovely family memories. A beautiful resort with great staff, lovely restaurants and a really good family atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it! If you’re coming from the uk bear in mind the voltage for hair tools/shavers/tooth brush chargers is different and your things won’t work. Also the currency is mainly dollars particularly for tipping so make sure you bring enough. We spent roughly £25/30 per day on tips - the staff genuinely earn every penny they’re fabulous.

It was my first time in the DR i went with my partner for our best friends wedding everything was perfect, i wish we stayed longer

As a first timer to all inclusive resort, I dont think we could have picked a better resort. The staff was friendly, the lazy river was relaxing, the room was clean and the variety of food and drink options was delightful.

We chose Dreams onyx for family members and friends to stay for my daughter’s wedding that was off site, everyone had a great experience with the resort accommodation for the welcome party the day before and the fun activities throughout their stay.

Dreams Onyx lives up to its name since it feels like you're living a dream-it's luxury at its finest. I recommend the preferred club which provides you with your own butler- no fighting for dinner reservations. Henry provided recommendations and made our reservations which took the stress out of planning and meant no wait times. He also checked in very morning to ensure we were good and had what we needed. Our bartender Anthony, at the family preferred bar, entertained us while he made the drinks. He was always welcoming, attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was having a good time which. He truly provided exceptional service and made our experience more special.
