Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana

Buffet was great for breakfast, slightly lacking options for lunch and dinner. Resort and beach amazingly beautiful and very secure. Speciality restaurants were amazing. Entertainment for all ages and great addition of the water park/slides. The only thing that was challenging was seating, you shouldn't have to plan and work so hard for a place to land during the day while on vacation. Overall, a great place to stay. Very kind staff, would return!

The concierge service was great (shout out to Yacaira, you were excellent!), the room was fantastic, the pool was incredible and the beach was amazing (large, and very clean) and the entire staff was super friendly. The only things I'd say weren't fantastic from my perspective: 1) at check in, never warned us about not drinking the tap water (I already knew this from visiting DR previously, but it should be said at check in!) 2) HUGE use of single use plastics, the last resort in the DR that I stayed in was very into sustainability and provided large reusable water bottles and had refill stations all over the resort, Dreams does not and that was a little disappointing coming from Hyatt. We easily went through over a dozen plastic bottles of water each daily. 3) Definitely got spoiled with the number of restaurants at the previous resort I stayed in last year, this had fewer restaurant choices, and the main buffet wasn't as great as the last one, but it was adequate. the "preferred club" italian restaurant was so far away from the main part of the resort that it wasn't worth the walk. 4) At the last resort, at all of the bars, they had huge water dispensers, icy cold, usually with fruit slices in them. Wish this resort had something similar (going back to too many plastic water bottles). 5) and this might be silly, but PLEASE add benches or ledges in the room showers, it is INCREDIBLY difficult to shave your legs once you've reached a certain age without them! (every resort/hotel should pay attention to that) I'd still give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars, and would be interested in going back for all of the good parts but would love to see some sustainability changes.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana This is a very beautiful hotel, featuring lovely, meticulously maintained green spaces. The hotel staff is extremely polite and highly professional. I would like to give a special mention to Lenin Zapata (Member Services Supervisor). As a UVC member, I can say without a doubt that Lenin Zapata’s service and dedication were excellent throughout our entire stay; he was 100% on top of everything and maintained incredible communication with us, making us feel truly special. We visited every restaurant at the hotel, and we had excellent meals at all of them. The swimming pools are always kept clean, and the staff members are attentive to any concerns or needs. The beach is very beautiful—the palm trees and the blue of the sea are simply perfect. It is a shame, however, that sargassum was present during our vacation week. The recreation staff is excellent, offering different shows every day. I would like to give a special shout-out to "Picachu," a very hardworking young woman with a special energy that allows her to connect with many of the guests. I would also like to mention two very important staff members: Felix Guerrero (AYB Assistant) and Chef Yimi Juan Louis Ramirez. Both did an outstanding job taking care of our family. They prepared a Romantic Dinner for our wedding anniversary and devoted their full, meticulous attention to us. I recommend this hotel 100%. I hope to be able to return very soon to enjoy the ultimate vacation experience once again.

Our week started with a hiccup due to issues in our preferred room, but by the next day, all was made right with an upgrade. Kudos to our personal concierge Roberto who graciously coordinated all aspects of the transfer to our new room. The resort grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the pools and lazy river were impeccably clean. We enjoyed early morning coffee on our deck as we watched a staff member singing as he placed folded towels on the Bali beds. Most of our time was spent walking in the lazy river and in the main pool participating in the noon aqua fit classes hosted by very fun and energetic entertainment team. The evening shows were excellent and the entertainment team hosted a fun beach party one evening. Breakfast at the preferred World Cafe was perfect. The à la carte restaurants were hit and miss, one time amazing and another not so much. But we’re not foodies, so our overall experience was pleasant and memorable.

Food was aweful. They didn’t always have everything available on the room service menu. The housekeeper didn’t change our sheets because I spilled some chocolate ice cream and it was there the remainder of my trip. The walls are thin and the staff talk to each other in the halls in between cleaning rooms so it is very loud. If you come with small children like I did than it’s not very stroller accessible around the pool . We went to the restaurant Tres Golpes and when I ordered fajitas they only brought out a plate of meat. No salsa, guacamole or tortillas. When I asked for it the waitress simply put it on the table and walked off. No apologies or anything. I said thank you and she didn’t respond. I will not be returning .
