Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana

Excellent resort and highly recommend. The layout is prefect for families, especially if you pay a little extra for preferred status. With preferred you have access to extra areas of the resort that give you more control over your vacation. For example the preferred areas are located near the entrance to the resort and offer exclusive dinning options and pools. These areas are typically quieter and offer a more relaxing environment. As you move way from the entrance toward the middle the resort it is more kid friendly as the waterpark is located here along with additional pools. And finally right before reaching the beach you have the main pool / swim up bar areas where activities are held, music is played loudly, and it has a much more party atmosphere. So depending on what your family is feeling that day you can pick the area that works best. My family typically started in the preferred area where it was quieter in the morning, hanging out around a private cabana ( no additional charge), and then made our way toward the ocean as the day progressed. Mid day was at the waterpark (kids are 10, 15, and 17) and then typically spending the last hour or so on the beach before heading back to the room to get ready for dinner. The beach is very well maintained, but like most warm ocean places it has a problem with sargassum, they clean the beach regularly but the ocean was full for most of our trip. You'll also have vendors trying to sell you things constantly on the beach, but in general a "No" had them move on without much continued selling. The food is good overall, but it's not consistent across all options. And we found each restaurant to have 1 or 2 options that were great, but after that the menus got average quick. Drinks overall were excellent, and the variety of alcohol brands and types available was great especially if you are making a cocktail. People looking for drinks like scotch and bourbon to drink neat or on the rocks will be disappointed in the selection as the level of booze is mostly Jim Beam / JB / Red Label. Not bad, but more for mixing than drinking straight. Quickly to finish up since this is a long review: We had two adjoining rooms, both were decent size, and worked for a family of 5. My sons are 15 and 17 and my daughter is 10 and the group fit fine in the rooms. The rooms were cleaned every day and restocked, and with all the in and out, sand, water from the pools, they were always restored to pristine conditions each day. Very pleased with house keeping. They have consistently running shuttles to get you all around the resort, our longest wait was maybe 5 minutes so moving around the resort is quick and efficient. All staff that we interacted with was extremely pleasant, helpful, and you could tell wanted to make our stay a positive experience. Overall it was one of our best experiences in the Caribbean and we would absolutely be back.

This was our second time staying here. This time, my wife and I enjoyed the hotel just the two of us, without the kids. The experience was even better on this second visit (and no, not just because the kids weren't there). We made the absolute most of our relaxation, taking full advantage of everything the hotel has to offer. A big thank you to the entire staff!

Second year we have been to this hotel. The hotel is clean and the rooms spacious with comfy beds with your own coffee maker and a well stocked fridge The beach is a lovely sandy one with plenty of sun beds All staff from the chefs, servers to the entertainment people are all lovely and very helpful and made some friends along the way We may make it a 3rd visit nxt year

Firstly I would like to say a BIG thank you to Mayker our concierge and Sarah our wedding co ordinator, you guys truly made our stay amazing. Start of our holiday we were put in the preferred side and the room was amazing! Everything was there that you could think of, 2 showers/2 bathrooms his and hers, lounge, massive bed, huge balcony with hot tub., that was great. We had to get a shuttle to main site each night and with a buggy this was abit of a pain, so we asked if we could go main site where our family were staying. The room wasn’t the same but saying that the room was still large and spacious. The grounds of this hotel are stunning on main site, and the pools were amazing. We liked seaside grill and ate there most days, along with the Mexican. The main hall is very small not sure how they would cope with a full hotel (half was being renovated but we didn’t see anything or hear much) but I’m sure they work it out with opening other restaurants to help. The beach wasn’t great this time of year, which was upsetting as I’ve been to this beach a couple hotels down before and it was stunning but it was sargassum season this time and it just wasn’t nice to look at. Sand was lovely and white though, shame about the sea. My wedding was supposed to be on the beach but we had to go for our alternative option due to weather which I was happy about, we used the mangrove gazebo and it was stunning :) Sarah really went above and beyond. I’m not sure I would stay again at this hotel as a couple or us and just my daughter but as a family of 10 it was lovely and everyone was happy. Again, big thanks to Sarah and Mayker… you really go above and beyond.

This was supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime for us after a tough couple of years and it did not disappoint. The hotel was stunning. The staff were amazingly friendly and attentive and there was an extensive array of high quality food and drinks,all in beautiful surroundings. I can not recommend this hotel enough.
